Compilation of Fighters' Cage Weight

wow didn't know Max was around 178lbs come fight day
When he moved up to LW he didn't look as big as we thought he would

How could you miss the fact that all of the numbers have links to the source?

Hydration tests added to weigh ins would be the only solution.
or just do it the way ONE fc currently does where they have rules against weight cutting... it's working perfectly fine for them

That's what his weight was for the Aldo fight, with him being out for a year (likely) due to weight cutting, he may have lost muscle/weight in the interim.

ONE allegedly does hydration testing, which is what I suggested, but I question their legitimacy given the apparent size difference in their fighters (Johnson's first opponent looked heavier than him, despite both of them being "required" to weigh 135 lbs, hydrated). ONE also claims to do "extensive" drug testing, but many of their fighters have also disputed this. At this point I'd compare ONE to Pride when it comes to weigh ins and drug testing (i.e. zero confidence).

You did a great job by finding these interviews nut terrible job at finding weights. For example. You wrote that Rose Namajunas is 119 in the fight day, but what Pat Barry said there is she is 119 day before weigh in. So more likely she weights around 125 on fight day

Rose herself said (from the same source) that she was 120 lbs by fight week; the 125-127 lb number that Barry mentioned was walk around weight, which is irrelevant to this thread.

Why is Khabib listed at 166 pounds? That was the monday before UFC 229, not his fight night weight

"It’s not really a secret: Khabib himself, as well as his father and coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, openly talk about his weight. During time-off, Khabib weighs about 85 kg (187 lbs). Then, in the training camp, as he is preparing for the fight, he weighs between 79.5 kg – 81 kg (79.5 kg or 175 pounds is the optimal weight for Khabib according to his father)."

I'd update it to 175

How the fuck does Cormier gain 31 lbs in 36 hours? Is there something i'm missing?

More surprised that Jones only coming in fight night at 222? That seems a bit low, against OSP & DC 2 he looked every bit of 235+. I'd say closer to 230 for Smith and Gus, but man 222 seems pretty low for Jones. If that's accurate it's no wonder he doesn't want to fight guys at HW. Guys that are the same height as him & weigh 40+ lbs more would possibly give him a challenge.

Weres your info coming from
He's being a retard an making estimations + quoting fighters on what they claim they fight at.

I mean, to suggest Weidman is fighting at 193 pounds is laughable.

I agree. He looked more jacked against DC though, so I guess it's not too surprising he was 10 pounds smaller against Gus.

None of those numbers in that article are quoted from anyone, whoever wrote the article just pulled the numbers from thin air (otherwise the numbers would've been quoted from a source or the sources would've been cited at the bottom of the article), and the site described itself as:

"Hey all, I welcome you to KhabibMcGregor.com – a fan blog about the Russian UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and a rivalry between him and “The Notorious” Conor McGregor."

Jones (and many others) numbers are straight from CSAC on fight day.

Personal insults don't strengthen your argument, it only demonstrates a lack of confidence in it.

And at least my methodology doesn't rely on judging a fighters' weight based on how heavy they look. Prime example, @kevinramsdell was surprised by Jones' weight because of how big Jones looked against OSP and Cormier, but Jones' numbers come directly from CSAC the day of the fight, post-hydration.

I agree. He looked more jacked against DC though, so I guess it's not too surprising he was 10 pounds smaller against Gus.
Except my previous source (back in 2016) had Jones' weight at 216.2 lbs, I then updated it after the Gustafsson rematch; he gained weight.

TS, this is great info but may I suggest a suggestion - qualifying these weights with a date/UFC event number for some reference. Otherwise, all the neck beards here are going to point to this as each fighter's weight every single time they compete. It would also be great to be able to compare against any other events in the future where we have the fighter's weight.

The point still stands. 166 is not the weight Khabib enters the cage in, so why is that listed as his cage weight?

http://tofight.ru/archives/29211

Here he weights 88 KG = 194 lbs. Guy definitely enters the cage at 175-180, not 166 pounds
That source is from 2015, prior to him being hospitalized for trying to cut too much weight, and he was recovering/recovered from a long layoff due to injury. Prior to the McGregor fight, Nurmagomedov was 170 lbs a couple weeks out from the Barboza fight:

“I weighed this morning, 15lbs (left to cut). 14 days or two weeks to weigh-in, I think it’s good. Seven kilograms, not bad."
https://www.sportsjoe.ie/mma/khabib-nurmagomedov-weight-rumour-144851

But I use the most recent sources, because fighters' weight changes all the time.

I might edit the post and add dates, but that's 112 fighters I'll have to fix, so eventually I'll do it, but not right now.

Good suggestion.

Cool thanks. Do you know if the numbers are taken early in the morning or close to fight time? I'd assume morning which gives them ample more time to put on some more weight.
