Our vessel is 4way anchored in upper Cook Inlet next to a drilling rig for a commercial dive job. We have 8 divers on board and a decompression chamber. Also a bunch of high tech gear with a super geek sharing the wheelhouse with me. The water is only 120' deep but the current runs hard and the visibility is like being in a milkshake, chocolate milkshake.
Watching these guys go over the side makes me nervous. They have their own fraternity/subculture, kind of like crab fishing.
Dudes are focused andstay in shape lifting weights and doing yoga type of stretching.
They can only dive 3 times 45min a day because of heavy currents so the job could go till the middle of august plus. Long time on a vessel but we do have a professional cook that is really good.
This is from a different job/boat, don't know who took it but it shows how silty the water is.
