Comcast Seeking you Kibosh Disney’s Purchase of Fox to Buy Fox for Itself

Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.

Damn, I was looking forward to watching Kathleen Kennedy fuck up Alien.

Comcast should focus on improving its internet speed and making a decent remote control and not interfere with Marvel, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool making our shared universe dreams come true.

Is there anything Comcast doesn't fuck up?

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they actually like that company.

Oh shit, I just realized that if the Disney/Fox deal falls through so do the odds that we’ll ever get the theatrical cuts of the original Star Wars movies on blu ray.

:(

Can't believe there are people in here saying that want the Disney/Fox deal to go through. Disney is already too powerful and owns too much shit.

It's not worth it just to put a few superheroes together.

What does one have to do with the other?

That's weird.

Fox was the distributor for the original trilogy and helped finance A New Hope. That gave them rights to the film. That’s part of the reason Lucas released the “Special Edition” in 1997 - so he could have the rights to those new versions of the films.

Interesting. I was unaware of this.

I have to say, I do understand why fans want the original films on Blu-Ray, but I like some of the Special Edition changes. It's a mixed bag, I'd say.

Not sure what will ever happen regarding releasing the original cuts but at least in the meantime the Harmy de-specialized versions exist.

What does "too powerful" mean in the movie studio business? What do you think happens, or what do we lose by Disney acquiring FOX?

I see the movie industry differently than most other businesses. There's too many parts, and a lot of people with varying degrees of power for shit to go off the rails as it would in other industries. Studio execs, directors, actors, designers can all effect change..and the business by nature is just more likely to be flexible than most others.
You don't have to be produced by a big studio to have a hit movie if the right people see it.

Sony is loaning out the Spiderman character to Marvel now.
Brolin is playing the comic villain in Infinity War, AND a hero/antihero in FOX's Deadpool 2 in like a week or two. It's all mixed up anyways. It's really like you can tell a FOX movie from a Sony or WB, etc.

I’m lucky because I own the 2006 “Limited Edition” DVDs of the trilogy where each movie had a second disc with the theatrical cut. The video and sound quality sucks but at least it doesn’t have all the shitty changes and additions.

Han shot first!
