i started lifting when i was 14, than had a break for a couple of years and now i am back at it again. i've been doing Wendler 5 3 1 for 2 months now. for assistance i was doing mainly "boring but big". couple a weeks ago i started doing German Volume training after my main lifts. i am not a bodybuilder but i want a little muscle. i feel sore all the time but other than that i feel ok. have any of you tried something like this? i just want ur opinions.

5/3/1 with BBB and a calorie surplus will be more than enough stimulus to grow. There's really no need for GVT, especially if you've only been lifting for 2 consecutive months..

I've tried GVT on squats once and I think it just takes to long to do 10x10 and to long to recover from. I'd imagine you'd get bored easy doing 10x10 of one exercise than ding 5x10 of two exercises or maybe 3x10 of three exercises.

And don't think that GVT will make you magically huge, its down to your diet. As TheeFaulted said, BBB is enough.. Theres no point trying to change something that isn't broken.

You're a noob right now. Do stronglifts 5x5 or SS and make gains. You will see the most gains at this point than any other point in your training career so make it count by doing something simple and effective.

Bad idea. IMHO, German Volume Training is only for Bodybuilders. If you have any other goals other than pure hypertrophy, stick with 5/3/1; it's a far superior system for strength and conditioning.

Again, unless you are planning on competing in a Bodybuilding show, Boring But Big will give you all the hypertrophy you could ever want or need.

I say go for it. Also, you might want to switch the squats for 20 rep squats, and do some Smolov on top.

Yeah, and try that on an unstable ground, a stability ball for example would be great!

And don't forget to do your flailing ballerinas with the cables. Oh, and of course, you better not forget your kegel exercises!

I don't think GVT is only for bodybuilders; it's also for those who want to build endurance the hard core way.

That being said BBB bores me to tears enough as it is let alone 10 sets of the same exericse over and over again.

If your focus is gaining muscle I'd say a bodybuilding split focused around the big compound lifts is a better idea.

Maybe it's just me but I hate high volume stuff.
