Combating PEDs

Could do all kinds of things. I think currently the ufc is trying to “slow it down”, but doesn’t want to stop it entirely.

For example, if you wanted you could test every single fighter at a gym immediately if anyone from that gym tests positive. But they don’t.

They could increase testing volume, set required intermittent testing every week once a fighter sounds a bout agreement.

But they don’t.

They just want the image of a clean sport, or that they are doing their best so they can maintain high profile partners like ESPN.
Exactly right, and also protecting themselves from a CTE lawsuit down the road. "We did everything possible to maintain a clean sport"

Its hard when ufc lets certain fighters get away with it

Why join a gym if they don’t help you dope and beat a test?

Personally, I don't think you are equipped for this discussion. I will only engage in discussion with you on this topic if you agree to do it over voice, if you have discord we can set it up immediately. We can also go over the PED thing too, but I hate arguments over discussion boards, people take too long to respond, people strawman, and there is too much pivoting, through voice it's easier to expose shit arguments due to the instant feedback. PM if you want to set it up.
Wow. Talking to another sherdogger over the phone. Has it ever happened before. What an incredible scenario. But, i guess. Some sherdoggers have met up to duke it out. So is possible.

Correct Idiom: Nip it in the Bud
Incorrect Version: Nip it in the Butt, Nix it in the Bud, Nix it in the Butt
This idiom references gardening. A flower that is “nipped in the bud” wouldn’t grow and blossom. This phrase is often used to suggest that by handling a something when it’s a minor problem, you’ll be able to avert a crisis.

It has nothing to do with anatomy.

Fantastic!!

I dunno if im ready for that kind of a relationship yet...

But Merry Christmas none the less

I would love to do a PBP Discord with a few fellow Fight Fans for one of the bigger or even smaller events. Was easy enough ta manage with 80-100 guildies fer EQ so I can imagine with a lil Monitoring and Pruning of Turds it could be fairly solid.

If fines and possible career ending penalties arent enough to stop the fighters from using, what do they give a fuck if their Gym gets fines? Its not like they have any control over what they take anyway.

They dont care who is clean and who isnt, but even if they did, that costs too much money for something people are just going to find some other way. They know there is no way to stamp out cheating entirely.

Exactly right. There’s been some pretty brutal stories coming up. They need to maintain a position of caring about the health and safety of fighters.

Whether or not they do? Idk, I don’t think asking fighters to take fights on short notice, or some of the matchmaking I.E. making squash matches (see khamzats first two ufc fights) reflect caring about the fighters health and safety.

It's jus too many idealistic concepts with no real venue. "If someone" is basic rally cry but does nothing. The cascade needed to alter PEDs in Sports or even just MMA will not happen and intrinsically can't.

I mean if making things right were that easy we would live in a different world.

Another way would be to back-test samples from championship fights up to 4 years. If you're a champ and get caught by new technology, like Jon Jones did, then you're stripped of that title fight win and serve a suspension. I know they already got paid, etc but there could also be fines if they're still with UFC. Make it too risky, at least at the top, to cheat.
