You should look up the nations with totalitarians that ordered all privately owned firearms to be banned... and then genocided their populations.
You call them naive. I call them stupid, and their leaders totalitarianistic.
The left's leaders constantly promise a utopian future, as have so many totalitarians before them, and more often than not genocides happen and the prosperous countries become shitholes.
You still believe the evil results of their policies are because of naive good intentions.
I don't. I believe they know exactly what they're doing because they don't re-access. They supposedly don't realize that having more violent criminals on the streets - let loose from the justice system dozens of times over - results in the rapes & murders of the innocent.
So, what is their motive?
Chaos.
Government causing the problem, blaming their opposition, and promising solutions... which cause the problems to get worse with more innocent victims suffering.
But the politicians families and friends never suffer, do they? They're never the victims of their own policies. They live in gated communities, their children go to private schools, walk around with bodyguards paid for by taxpayers... And they keep getting reelected.
They'd burn everything to the ground to rule over the ashes.
