Wasn't that the police that stayed in cover way too long and stopped parents from trying to get into the school to get to their kids?
 
If you dont understand... kirk is a far bigger stpry as its more visceral for most people to see a man die in hd and will obviously emote a larger response than read a story about something that sadly in usa occurs quite frequently.

All the schools here have metal detectors you gotta walk through. We got gangs here though, but no school shootings. Metal detectors are the obvious answer, but I guess that scares the soccer moms in the suburbs.
 
Sounds like no kids died - only the shooter? Hope that is the case..

At least we got some relatively positive news on a dark day.. these things can always be much much worse
 
Colorado already has some of the nation's strictest gun control laws.

So that isn't going to be the solution.

What we COULD do, however, is pass more laws...like making murder illegal. That will stop these shooters in their tracks.

Which is a terrifying fact to begin with, school has only just started up again for the year and theres already been several shootings, the US is in complete shambles.
 
Crazy how numb we've become to the murder of children. The Charlie Kirk thread is nearing 200 pages though. I wonder if we'll become numb to political killings too, in time.

I was shocked when my kid started kindergarten and they had active shooter drills same as I remember having fire and earthquake drills.

Companies are making bulletproof backpacks and they can’t manufacture them fast enough. It’s fucking insane.

A security guard with a metal detector at each entrance would eliminate this problem or at least cut down the risk to nearly zero. I don’t why it hasn’t been done already. All the court houses have it. All the schools where I live have it.

Yeah it’s a pain in the ass and looks intimidating , but the risk vs reward is absolutely worth it.

Would probably also reduce the amount of drugs being pushed in schools too.

Court houses are full of cops, anyone who’s targeting a courthouse is most likely to be after someone specific for revenge. Armed guards elsewhere are there to protect merchandise. Metal detectors are a great way to keep students from bringing small arms in and using them in the heat of the moment but I just can’t imagine a world where a single armed guard isn’t taken down by a school shooter immediately before rampaging further.

A security guard being shot outside the school at least gives some sort of warning for everyone inside that shit is about to go down. Thoughts and prayers aren’t really working.
