Cold Shower Takers??

apparently they boost testosterone, improve circulation, boost immunity and is better for your skin and hair.

still, fuck that.

[there was a period of time where i started taking only cold showers in fairly cold weather. it definitely cut back on heat usage and shower time, as i did not want to be in there shivering my nuts off. i did kind of like it and dreaded it at the same time.

i always end my hot showers with cold water for no reason other than i dont want to finish showering and start sweating immediately.

QUOTE="FootstompShonie, post: 121730399, member: 276321"]I always end with like 2 minutes of freezing cold water after a hot shower. It closes all your pores that heat expands and keeps dirt and the like to a minimum from getting clogged in your pores.[/QUOTE]

I started doing them recently, was reading of the positive effects from it. It's also good that I don't spend too much time under the shower, when the water is hot I tend to just stay for prolonged periods of time just because it's pleasant, haha. Now, I'm definitely much quicker and use just the right amount of time needed to cleanse myself.

Definitely enjoy cold showers. One can find pleasure in the "pain" and it's good for you. But like @Lethal_Striker said, on cold winter days a hot shower is the ticket, especially if you work outside. A warm shower is a great reward from the brutality of winter.

Lol I've seen a few of your posts in here and the war room. I wouldn't expect you to understand

Why don't you drive with your car window open in the winter. It would make you gritty.

And why wouldn't you expect me to understsnd? I'm not gritty like you I guess

I take them in the summer to cool off quickly. A 2 minute cold rinse before heading into an air conditioned room after getting sweaty (I walk 3 miles each way to work every day, in the summer I get pretty slimy by the end of it in the afternoon heat) is a nice way to transition to down time.

Pretty simple. Wakes me up in the morning, helps me sleep at night, gives me more energy, lifts my mood and I generally feel a lot better doing it.

Guess not everyone experiences those benefits.

It would be better to take a hot shower, then rinse with really cold water for 30 secs. at the end. You won't have the soap scum problem, you will get woken up at the end, and you don't have to suffer when you first get in.

Buddhists say the hot/cold thing is good for your skin (hot water opens pores to eliminate toxins, the cold rinse at the end closes them back up again), and they also say a cold rinse after a hot shower raises your core energy.

People that live in Northern climates will never understand.

I actually do drive with my windows down, in all weather conditions.

I don't have any problems rinsing all the soap off my body, so I don't really need hot water IMO.

Also, I've tried to do hot/cold for a while but it's just not for me. Definitely prefer to go cold.

I don't turn the heat on in my house in the winter so my house is like low-high 60's(awesome imo). I like to take a hot shower then.

I spend five minutes under a cold shower everyday with this playing in the background. It's my morning ritual.
