Cold Shower Takers??

I wish I could take a cold shower here in the summer. Not possible, there is maybe 20-30 seconds worth of cool water before what I assume is like 90 degrees comes out.

The tricks if you ever have to take a cold shower (from what I've noticed)...

Let the initial impact of the water hit your chest. You get used to it much quicker.
Keep your hands in the cold water too long and then the shivering starts.

Oh... and let it flow down the booty crack. It's very pleasant.
I'll give that a shot. I usually jump in head/face first.

I do it 90% of the time to reduce puffiness in morning, cool down from workout, and get my deep breathing going to increase oxygenation in blood

Cold showers make sense in the summer, cooling yourself down after coming in from sweating outside. But in the winter like January it makes no sense to cool yourself down right before you go outside to scrape the ice off of your car windows?

Anyone here take cold showers? Like, very cold... hot water valve entirely (or almost entirely) blocked off.

I've been doing it about 2 months now.
The first day I only did cold water...but, you're left with this layer of soap on you that you just can't get off properly with very cold water.
So, every day after that I'll do a 20 second warm water rinse at the end... after I got the bulk of the soap and shampoo off with the cold water.

A couple of interesting things:
- electricity bill is down about $50 a month
- shower time has been cut down a bit too.
- helps with my morning asthma... which seems paradoxical because I'll kind of do those involuntary gasps that a person does when you're splashed with cold water.

From June through September because of the hot humid weather here.

dude, fuck that. it probably is beneficial, but it's not worth the discomfort.

Try living here in the summer.

I like the heat. Where u from CINT.

Also a cool shower is fine but putting the handle all the way onto the coldest setting seems silly to me.

It doesn't even feel nice. Cool is different than cold

When I have a migraine, a cold swim or cold shower is about all that allows me to get past the pain for a bit. As I have no swimming pool or lake nearby, I have to resort to a cold shower. My shower stall has a built in seat, and I just turn the water as cold as it will go and sit down with my head directly under the spray. If I've been outside working in the yard or I'm actually dirty, I start warm/hot to wash then cool it off to help regulate body temperature. I live in Arkansas where 95 degrees feels like 103 or 104 due to the 80% or higher humidity, so your sweat doesn't cool you off, it just makes you miserable. That's when a cold shower really feels good and helps keep you from overheating.

Louisiana aka Da Swamp.

No there isn't. There is no real benefit to the body torturing yourself with a freezing cold shower.
It develops grit. I've been taken cold showers for years. Great refresher and makes things that are generally less pleasant seem much more tolerable

So there is no real point at all.

Instead of just enjoying s nice shower you use it for some silly reason
