Colby's post fight speech ft. Trump

You have to escort the former president out before the crowds for safety

I think it's time for him to go. Not only because he put Colby in yet another title fight he didn't deserve, but just his incessant ass licking of Trump, a guy who is under major indictments and crimes against the national security of the country.

He keeps bringing Trump there not realizing that the UFC is now a Big name corporation with many investors instead of just Fertita owned.

It's not smart for a business like this to just side with one politician, especially one like Trump who can hurt the brand. ITS NOT HIS COMPANY and yet he acts like it is.

I think he chose a clearly Ring Rusted Colby just to make Trump base happy. Not smart and look at the results.

Pretty sure Dana owns a good chunk of stock in the company so yea it is technically his company

In terms of making money yes. In terms of having power if he doesn't have 51% he has 0%. By this logic George Lucas owned Disney when he was the largest individual shareholder.

It was mentioned that the pre fight press conference boosted ppv sales by 25%. Your emotions aren't going to pay the bills. The promoter doing a proper promotion will.

You’re reading into it way too much. Dana and Don are friends and sometimes Don comes out to watch fights. Not a big deal.

i look it at more of dana and trump being personal buds and not the ufc endorsing him. I feel you though.

More than half the country supports trump. I wouldn’t say it would “hurt the brand”

The numbers don't tell the whole story. Whatever you say, or think, the fight was super close, it wasn't an outright demolishing and the deciding factor, was 13 significant strikes. Colby had more ground control time, regardless if Leon conceded, or "let him." Colby finished stronger and it wasn't this out right ass whooping that people are pretending it was. Colby at no point was wobbled, hurt, shaky, never in any trouble with submissions, and in the end, had more ground control time. If Leon's plan was to just let Colby do it towards the end, well, that's not very smart either. Colby can easily comeback from this, it wasn't a bad loss, and with no USADA, favorable match ups which the UFC isn't against, he could very well be fighting for the title again before end of 2024. Ultimately, it is a popularity contest, and depends on who can generate interest enough. Shavkat/Belal should be next, but I'm willing to bet they don't move the needle, someone like Colby does. It will be interseting to see how it all plays out, but I truly believe Colby isn't out. He's in bad spot, but it is not completely done. Only has lost to champions. I think a Usman rematch makes sense.
Lmao Colby is done. Mid card status.

The judges never favor me

Colby is 6-2, 75% win percentage in decisions since getting ranked opponents.
He's 1-1 in fights with a finish in the same time span.

You’ve been watching mma since the early 2000’s and you really think was a close fight ? Seek help bro

Leon pieced him up on the feet, both with punches and leg kicks, and also outgrappled him nearly finishing the fight with a submission twice. It wasn’t even remotely close

You must be trolling
yes, i've been watching even earlier that. believe it. Leon on paper, landed only 13 more significant strikes, spread out over 5 rounds, thats not even 3 additional strikes per round, it's less. Leon won, but at what cost? It was point fighting pitter patter glorified sparring, worthy of an APEX fight. Colby had more ground control time and finished stronger. It wasn't a barn burner like yall thought it was, same as the Irene Aldana fight, that was most certainly not FOTY. lol. in a couple of months yall will be saying this. This victory will not be remembered as this annihilation that so many are pretending it is.

ROFL as if 90% percent of UFC fans and fighters aint MAGA,
{<jordan}
bro if anything it was LEON who was at a much more disadvantage.

I completely get what you are saying and we are really just splitting hairs here but I'm enjoying the discussion killing time on a Sunday. For Edwards, he is the champ, it doesn't matter if it is by an inch or a mile his goal is to get the win, stay champion to continue enjoying all the benefits that title brings, and enjoy the big paycheck he will get for the fight that Colby did most of the work to build for him.

Edwards had two title defenses this year that certainly paid him much more than Colby has ever gotten with likely a lot less work, stress, hospital visits and court cases Colby had. I agree Colby is not completely done as a fighter but I think his chances of being champion are. I very well could be wrong because as you said Shavkat/and that other guy you mentioned who's name escapes me really can't headline a PPV. I think Colby would have some very big fights down at LW with guys that seem to be closer to his size and would engage him in some crazy promotion.

No, you arent ready for it. STFU. And that doesn't explain why you think trump is a good businessman. That man is so dumb he literally thought you could nuke a hurricane. He is a cult leader, not a businessman
You would fail his business 1 oh 1 . Study harder on reverse osmosis to counter spin a hurricane. #trump for weatherman 2024.
