Colby will have a TS from a 21 months layoff

Lmao, you sound like a casual.

GSP got a MW title shot after a 4 year layoff and guess what - he never fought any MW prior to that. You know why he got the shot? Because people know what he is capable of, just like Colby.

what's the logic in comparing GPS who was riding an 12 fights win streak that included 10 consecutive title fights to Colby who is 2-2 in his last four ? how is that even comparable ? are you mentally challenged? because I'm starting to think that.

Why should they be? Because casuals don't know what they were capable of when Colby fought them?

wtf is this word salad ?

Maia is 10 times more of a fighter than Geoff Neal will ever be.

what year is it ? you're still talking about Colby 2017 win against a 37 years old Maia when himself was 29 ? that's the only argument you've got to justify his 2023 title shot ?

Oh, so now you are talking about quality of a fighter
Right, first doesn't matter who Colby fought, not because of a quality of opponents he fought, but because they are retired. But 10 title fights (which is a quality thing) against people who also retired for GSP do count. Son, you are dumb as fuck, go back to school and check what basic logic is.

Yeah but he wasn't 0-2 with title shots either. His championship fight record is much better. Destroyed and finished the only 2 fighters who beat him and undefeated for 5 years as a champion. Sure wouldn't have a problem if Colby's resume was like his either.
I bet if Colby wins he will be undefeated for a while too... If he's sitting for 21 months without a belt, imagine how long he could sit waiting for easy matchups with the strap on.

Meanwhile rusty Jon Jones:

Lol even Mark Coleman beats Gane

Leon/Colby is official for 296 in December.

That's 21 month since the last time Colby fought a semi retired masvidal

One of the most underserved TS ever lol

No way the guy isn't rusty after this layoff at 36yo

Stipes getting a title shot coming off a loss a couple of years back and his last win was 3 years ago and he's in his 40s.

It's just business.

Hopefully we get another 'Headshot Dead' KO and Colby can go to the back of the line. Credit to Dana for being able to say Colby deserves the title shot with a straight face.

Because like I said, if someone is essentially undefeated it's okay to have a layoff, probably the only case. It's not about the layoff it's that Colby has no wins over active WWs and has lost every title shot he had. I'm going to say this very carefully, but long layoffs now almost mean the fighter will perform better when they return, assuming they weren't out for an injury, there are lots of things they can do to enhance their performance outside of regular competition and look better.

Didn't Costa get a hair transplant? He looks better to me in a non-homosexual type of way.

Also, here are his last 4 fights

-win against Jorge Masvidal who has around 50 losses
-Undeserved title shot rematch with Usman (loss)
-win against 72 year old Tyron Woodley
-KTFO in title shot against Usman

Yes he was never full unconscious for even a single second, but to your feeble brain this still means “knocked the fuck out”.

Wasn't Colby the backup fighter for Leon vs Usman 3?

If he was, than that's why he's next in line.

Exactly, respect sir.

Well the difference is Jon Jones is the greatest LHW in UFC history and is arguably the best fighter ever. It's similar to why there isn't much push back for Stipe getting the title shot, while they definitely aren't deserving their past accomplishments make it more justifiable. Comparatively Colby was never the undisputed champ and hasn't accomplished a fraction of what Stipe or Jon have.

How does it taste?

Dana sees the data of where people who order PPVs are. That's why he's spent years building EU stars like Bisping and Conor, and why he's shifting to the shithole state pro-wrestling crowd now.

He had a layoff because he was jumped outside of a steakhouse

if I am Colby's manager, I can come up with like six arguments for him getting a title shot
