Is what Woodley keeps saying & many fans keep echoing. Looking back at his current run, the only real favor I see the UFC did for him was giving him Kim when Colby was unranked. But if we approach this in an unbias manner and ignore Colby's personality, his resume is absolutely worthy of a title fight:
- At the time of Colby's victory vs each of his last 3 opponents; Kim was ranked 7th, Maia was ranked 3rd, RDA was ranked 1st.
-9-1 ufc record including 6 in a row. His lone loss was the type of prospect loss that is expected. Conor, Anderson, many fighters beer caught early via sub vs average but dangerous fighters. Losses like Lando vs Teymur or Perry vs Griffin over the course of 15 mins are much more troubling.
If a fighter beats #7 #3 & #1 they are worthy of a title shot no matter their name.
Hoping this fight headlines ufc 228 in Houston. Both guys are more exciting than they get credit for & their styles make for good fight imo.
