Hey guys,

Kenny here,

I have 1 hour for my lunch break at my part time job at the LA TRaffic Courthouse so I was listening while eating MCdonalds across the street (they have free WIFI).

I know that the hot topic is news that Conor MCgregor might want to fight Khabib for a much lower price than what he wanted for other fights before, but I was listening to the Rogan podcast with Gus because although I hate Joe Rogan I am a fan of Gus because I think he beat Jon Jones.

But Gus brought up a good point. What if Colby loses to RDA in Brazil?

I feel that right now it is the trend to be the "heel" or a hate-able character that people hate so they tune in to watch you lose, but if Colby loses then I think that his fame will go down the toilet. My friend's cousin (who is a very pretty girl) told me that she thinks that Colby is attractive and good looking. So I would imagine that he would still have young girls as fans, but what about the common MMA fan or sherdogger?

I think if Colby loses then the trend of being a Heel will go away. This is also because of what happened to Conor. It appears that Conor has lost a lot fans because of recent events and that people are slowly being turned off by the "heel" aspect of MMA. Some people would argue if you want to do that go to WWE like Rhonda did and get paid way more money.

P.S. There is also a Burger King close by (heh..) but it is a couple of more blocks away. Maybe I shouldve ate a Chicken sandwich and post a picture. lol

Next time I get a ticket, I know who to message.

To actually answer your question though, heels draw money until they lose, that's why people pay. Once the heel loses, it's kind of like a pinata popping, they lose a lot of drawing power. If the heel keeps winning, they lose drawing power too because people don't like watching a jerk win. To make the most money, you have to be a hero and fight a long succession of different rivals, a la Muhammad Ali, Hulk Hogan, Michael Jordan.

Good stuff Kenny.

But they are fighting in Chicago at 225 now.

Too long, skipped to the punchline.

It seems the fate of heels is to make bank and get title shots.

WRONG!

The fate of the heel is to disappear all together. No one will go that route anymore to market themselves. It can backfire too harshly.

No future heel is going to give a fuck about Covington or his fate. He isn't relevant.

Colby is not a heel. Chael is a heel.

Colby is a pathetic tryhard with 27k twitter followers.

For comparison, MM who's not very popular, has around 290k

Colby will fade into obscurity once he lands back in the prelims where he belongs.

Mandick here,

May examples of heels having long careers: Chael, Jones, Brock (kinda), Tito (to me), Kos, etc

Thanks,
Mandick

kenny, you need to stop wasting your time on sherdog and start youtubing brotha

I like to think that Colby is self aware and that the cringe is the gimmick. Or rather it is all a satirical performance piece railing against the injection of drama and the rise of the ego driven fighter.

Colby is def great for the heel role. Even if he loses, people will still turn in to see him lose again. It also helps his cause that he looks like some rich, white, good looking preppy jock, and is acting like such a dick, evoking Trump with his #MakeWWGreatAgain tag line, and in a sport that is full of fans that are fat nerds, video game dweebs, manlets, microlets and virgins who get jealous of good looking CIS white males like Rockhold. Just like Jack Johnson used to be the perfect supah heel, the black man that loved white women in segregated 1920's America, Colby is the supah heel equivalent for the year 2018, where the only thing people hate more than a good looking athletic CIS white male is one that is cocky, rude and can kick your ass.

You get an hour lunch at a part time job? That's what's up.

Colby is not a big enough deal to affect any type of trend in MMA. Also, what do I give a fuck about your part time job, with a 1 hour lunch break
