Rumored Colby Covington vs. Khamzat Chimaev in the works for UFC 285

Colby will be 35 by the time he steps up to fight Chimaev. It will be a year since he fought Masvidal. Had you told me a year ago, I would have picked Colby in a heartbeat but now…..hard to tell.

Stylistically would have never favored him not today or 10 years ago.. Chimaev is a nightmare match-up for him

Colby - Burns is a fight I want to see before it’s all said and done.

Good fight, but with these two clowns I won’t believe it until the cage door closes.
 
One of the better matchups of the year...I hope this fight is official.

The lead up to the fight alone will be just as if not more entertaining than the fight.

Lol how so? Good luck taking Colby down at will. Chimaev hits much harder and Colby’s punches won’t hurt him early but as the fight goes, the more tired Chimaev would get and Colby has an endless gass tank. Chimaev’s best chance would be to fuck him up early AND that’s not easy to do to a guy like Colby ( or at least wasn’t) . If the fight get’s passed the 2nd round, Chimaev losses a decision.

My biggest doubt is Colby being 35 and his lazy schedule lately. Father time gets to you like it or not.

The cardio part is based on assumption and fallacy.. The pace Khamzat fought with against Burns for 3 rounds colby would gas hard in that environment if he magically survivors somehow meaning making it to round 3

What I do dislike about Colby is his whole shtick of trying to be the bad boy Trumper retard. It's clearly an act and believe it or not he can be normal. He tried to go the Conor route by having a big mouth, but it doesn't really work for him.

Anyways, this should be a really good fight and an excellent test for Khamzat (if he can make the weight).

But its not, Colby has no way to finish Khamzat, and Khamzat would break him anyway under two rounds.
Colby has no sub game, no ko, he can only hope some rib breaks by chance.
 
Damn, that's so far away. What is with these massive gaps between fights? Fighters are just pissing their primes away. It's going to be a full year since Colby last fought. And I doubt Khamzat is the issue, he didn't even get hit his last fight.
 
Colby's act is annoying AF and there's a reason his peers can't stand him. I think Colby will lose but I wouldn't be surprised if he won - look at the Burns/Chimaev fight, Covington could take a decision.

His cardio is questionable because he has never fought 5 rounds and the only time someone put a fight on him he looked exhausted. Personally, I think his cardio sucks but it will be shown when he goes 25 min.

Also, lol at based on “assumption” … this is an mma forum where we discuss about fights that have not taken place 24/7/365. We are full of assumptions, expectations, predictions and shit that probably won’t happen. I guess time will tell with Chimaev’s cardio, but If I can’t assume that his cardio is shit then you can’t assume that is good for a 25 min scrap.

It’s the UFC’s own fault for making him like this, he would never play a character if they just expected him to fight and win, nooo noo noo that was not enough for the ufc.

When was the last time Costa put someone to sleep? He's a powerful dude, no doubt, but not exactly known for hIs KO power (seeing as he has a grand total of 1 KO on his record)...
Aside from that, wasn't Costa vs Whittaker already announced a while ago or am I imagining things?
