Great, so you've admitted two things:

1. The UFC manipulates the rankings after they are created by the "independent body".
2. Joanna was removed but both Conor and Jon were left in the rankings even though they were inactive for much longer (both over two years).

I'm glad you got to this point. It took a bit of work but you now know for a fact that the UFC rankings are directly manipulated by the UFC and that they are inconsistent nonsense.

Now, add the following from the article you posted:

Originally, anyone visiting the UFC’s official website could see not only the aggregate rankings, but that of each panelist. That individual information was removed from the page when the system received an overhaul in January.

They are going down a dangerous slope ...alot of fighters are gunna be angry in the future if the same guys keep hanging around at the top without merit..

PFL , One FC and Bellator should be taking note of this . ...PFL especially as there process cuts all this stupidness out and is why I am a HUGE fan of them..

As martial artist myself i would be really hard pressed to choose between signing with PFL or UFC if asked TBCH
 
Colby quite honestly aint that good. If he loses to Jorge and another top 10 fighter I don't see him getting another title shot ever.

I don't think people value or contextualize losses appropriately. Colby arguably took 4-5 rounds off Usman in two fights. That might be the most impressive thing anyone has done at WW outside of Usman of course.

Funny statement. So a top3 fighter after two title shots who won for 7 years against every elite opponent other than the champ "aint that good" <Lmaoo>

Because he got dropped 4 times by Usman without getting knocked out even though his best wins in the division are fossils (according to Colby fans)

Colby is good but I'd say this thread refutes that statement. Wonderboy, Leon, Masvidal, and Burns being particular examples.

RDA is listed as one of khabobs best wins, but not Colby? Because he's a LW? Yet kabob best wins are all former or current FW??
 
not a fan of fighters sitting out for a ts.
he should have fought two more people before getting a second crack at the title
so i say he does not deserve the ranking right now.. but the eye test puts him up there

You don't lose your ranking because your former opponents declined in rankings. I do think he should lose his #1 ranking for inactivity since you shouldn't be able to sit out for a title shot. Or, I would think that if the UFC was ran like a legit sport and not a shitshow with title shots given on the whims of the owners.

Woodley and Lawler were clearly shot when he fought them. I don't see how that justifies a number one ranking. As you said his inactivity and having zero wins over any currently relevant fighters should at least drop him down a couple spots.

Ironically, people like you and the TS fall the hardest for "sports entertainment" gimmicks. I mean you got TS making nonsense arguments for why Colby doesnt deserve his rank for the simple fact that he doesn't like the guy. TS is a pure mark.
 
Colby had no control over Woodley and Maia leaving, and RDA choosing to change weight classes. These were all top five guys when Colby beat them, so why should he get punished? Add the fact that he's given Usman everything he can handle twice, whereas nobody else has been particularly competitive with him, and you've got your answer. If he beats Masvidal, he stays. If not, then Masvidal probably jumps up to the top three with Colby a slot below him.
