i agree. i think it also works if people care to see him fight. at that point, it doesn't matter if he wins or loses in my opinion. winning means you can't ignore the fighter no matter what. like when the ufc had to give fitch his title shot.

And you also have to be good on the mic, which Colby never was. Colby's presentation of himself got him attention but never really succeeded in expanding his fan base or selling fights. He's the classic case of a heel who needs a manager to make it work.
