This is just a thread for the casual MMA fans on sherdog that don’t know much about elite level MMA skills. There’s a misconception around here that Colby’s a decision machine and his striking sucks because Demian Maia landed about 5 punches in the first minute of their fight.

Colby falls in the same category as Khabib. Their striking is serviceable and they can even hurt guys. But if they ever bank on it against an actual competent striker they will go down.

The wrestling threat has always aided the striking success of guys like them.
