He left Bellator for the UFC. He may have been 'stupid' enough to trust Dana enough to burn that bridge to the point he realized he was forced to leave the USA market.

If anything he was very lucky to get to join ONE FC for the pay he received given his limited options after being blackballed by thr top org and torching the bridge of the second biggest org.
