Cody McKenzie donates blood to make weight!

Seems like as long as he doesn't fight more often than every 8 weeks it's a decent strategy. I can't imagine it would feel good to be fighting a few pints low, though.

I wouldn't have considered this to be funny if it was anyone else but Cody. Lmao, that guy is just hilarious no matter what he does.

Is that safe? I'm no DR but that sounds even more sketchy than having enema's and all the other crazy shit people do to cut weight. Nevertheless at least he's donating I guess lol

Probably not a problem health wise, but isn't that reverse blood-doping? I really doubt being short 1 lbs of blood is worth the extra 1 lbs of muscle you kept instead. And if you're that dehydrated already, is the blood even usable?

Well I know you can only donate 1 pint of blood, which is what? 1 pound maximum?

Also you are pretty weak after donating blood. Every time I donate blood they make me sit in a canteena and drink gatorade and eat snacks for like 20 minutes before I can even drive off. Not sure fighting after is a great strategy.

He couldn't make 171 lb on his first attempt? Dude fought @ 155.

And I didn't know JT$ was a free agent.

Thats some pretty old school stuff, heard of lots o wrestlers doing that to make weight, but the "normal" practice I've heard of is taking out the last weight in blood for weigh-ins and the inserting it again afterwards.

YES. That's what I'm talking about. I wanna see some good ole fashion bloodletting backstage when someone is overweight. Maybe incorporate that into TUF somehow. Just think of the career Gabe Ruediger could have had in the UFC if he showed that much dedication.

Also at 145 vs Mendes and Garcia.

How hilarious and cool would it be if Cody won this thing?

I can't imagine this is worth the sensation you get after donating blood. Should have just prepped better.
