Cody Garbrandt vs. Augusto Mendes at UFC Pittsburgh

Lineker with that loser mentality. Take notes from the guys in the main event and don't be such a little girl.

Shut up, go see your mom, diner is ready.

Mendes pretty decent? Would be big if he could be No Love in his debut on the main card.

Glad they got a replacement for that fight. I'll bet they got replacements for Smith and Murphy as well.

he competed at 167 lbs weight category so he's quite big too

Isn't his striking poor? Anyways, what's his BJJ style like?

Mendes better show up this time.

He initially agreed to face Charles Rosa (at 145) as a replacement in Boston last month only to drop out the following day.

Could be an interesting weight cut for him.

Another one dimensional fighter for Garbrandt, he really needs to step up to the plate, not his fault to be fair but damn offer somebody noteworthy a damn incentive to test this prospect.

Good fight. But this is a tough debut for Tanquinho.

Hope Augusto pulls it off. Enjoyed his BJJ rivalry with Rafael Mendes (arguably p4p the best BJJ practitioner in the world) and Augusto was his kind of bogey guy.

But unless Augusto has plenty of takedown variations, you wouldn't best against Cody

I king of agree, but to keep him on the card and let him get paid, I'm sure they did not have many options.

Hopefully, Mendes can strike better than Vagner Rocha. Who had similiar pedigree and background before coming to the UFC.

Mendes has a solid chance. I picked Garbrandt over Linker but I favour Mendes here now.

2013 BJJ World Champion and World No GI Champion in 2012 and 2015, currently the BJJ coach at the MMA Lab. Honestly for any of those who haven't watched him, do yourself a favour and do it. An absolute wizard on the mat and his wrestling isn't too bad. His takedowns mostly come from the clinch and he's very crafty with them.

As you'd expect, his striking is not exactly picturesque but he actually do pack a lot of raw power. Fantastic replacement.

Classic grappler vs striker matchup. Tanquinho presents the exact opposite challenge that Lineker did, the fact that Garbrandt has been preparing for a striker will give Tanquinho a slight advantage that he's really going to need. I lean towards Garbrandt by KO but if Tanquinho gets it to the ground Garbrandt is in a lot of trouble.

I hope they build Tanquinho up well, he has the best modern grappling credentials by far in the UFC, he has done well in ADCC and won no gi worlds multiple times in the IBJJF. I could see him sticking around for a while. He's also tapped Ryan Hall, who people are shitting their pants over as far as grappling in MMA goes.

Wow I am very surprised. Great replcement. As good as the original but in very different way

This is a good replacement on short notice for Cody. But I can't help but wonder what Mendes' striking is like. Because Cody as we know is very talented on the feet and it wouldn't shock me if he picked Augusto apart for either a TKO or decision.

Pulling for tanquinho (jiu jitsu, motherfucker), but no love should be the rightful favorite
