Shooting survivor’s father admits email changes in CNN spat
Colton Haab's father acknowledges omitting some words from the email but says he didn't do it on purpose.

Last week's televised town hall on guns and school safety has led to finger-pointing by the father of a Florida school shooting survivor and CNN.

The network says Glenn Haab, the father of Marjory Stoneman Douglas junior Colton Haab, doctored emailsto push a claim that the network told his son what to say at the forum. Colton Haab backed out of the Feb. 21 event.

CNN denies scripting any remarks and released an email exchange between a CNN producer and Glenn Haab that it says Glenn Haab altered. The altered email was sent to other news outlets, including Fox News.

Haab acknowledges omitting some words from the email but says he didn't do it on purpose.

Business Insider reported Friday evening that, according to CNN, a network producer agreed to let the younger Haab write and ask a question about arming teachers at the network's Wednesday town hall.

But Haab’s father sent the network a long speech that he insisted his son read at the town hall. CNN, citing time constraints, told Glenn they needed Colton to stick with the question “that he submitted.”

When the elder Haab passed along the correspondence between his family and the network to media outlets,Business Insiderreported, he omitted the key phrase, “that he submitted.”

The family of a Parkland shooting survivor appears to have provided doctored emails to Fox and HuffPost in an attempt to support their claim that CNN "scripted" its Wednesday town hall. http://read.bi/2EQlKrv

The spat led to several conservative website stories accusing CNN of a pro-gun control bias.

I remember a story about CNN censoring a pro-gun kid making the round a while back. Just thought people might be interested in an update. Mods can merge if they think its necessary.

Clearly the people who were going to bat for this kid and his father will come in here and admit that they were wrong. Because that would be civilized and honorable. I believe in them!

Too late. The false email already spread across conservative and alt-right echo chambers and is now treated as truth.

Well the father is real lowlife for doing that. I wonder what agenda he was trying to push? It is amazing how stupid people are thinking they can get away with things like this.

I feel for the son who probably got pushed into this by his dad.

Obviously it was all part of a NRA funded baby and adolescent killing agenda. I imagine the father was bribed with prime access for Shot Show 2019, a lifetime subscription to Guns and Ammo and fold out pin up's of AR15 exploded schematics for his raging gun porn fetish. The kid was merely a poor dupe of the firearm industrial complex and his father's addictions.

His agenda was probably to drag CNN (and by the "Liberal MSM" by extension) through the mud.
The sad thing is he did get away with it. The damage is done.

The best part of eating crow is that in the future it lets me argue to my heart's content with a clear conscience.

You mean the alt-right fell for fake news again?

But he didn't mean to do it. I guess cutting and pasting or forwarding emails automatically just takes out full sentences in the middle of paragraphs by itself. And it just so happened that the full sentence taken out was the one that changed the whole meaning and tenor of the interaction.

Funny how that works.

Both Hannity and Tucker Carlson did briefly correct this bullshit they ran with. But much like frontpage news getting a back page correction, their hair on fire coverage of this got a few sentence at end of programming correction.

It's tough for me to wrap my head around how many people get worked up over CNN's dishonesty but will support slandering them. I get the lying to make them look bad part; it's the extent that dishonest people get upset over supposed dishonesty in others that confuses me.

More importantly for the GOP, what server was used in these email dealings?

Tucker Carlson will be making an emotional public apology on his show tonight. His conscious is wracked knowing he actually helped spread false propaganda to the Fox viewership.

Disappointing but not surprising. Kid can thank his dad for embarrassing his family and making him look like an ass.

lol I am interested in his response. I am sure he'll still find a way to blame CNN.
