Do Cleveland and Detroit deserve the negative energy they get?

Um, I would say they do deserve the bad press because they are shitholes.

I like Detroit. Sure it's rough but I enjoy walking around finding dive bars and seeing all of the old and abandoned buildings.

I was talking to a player from the local semi-pro football team. He was from Detroit and said he'll "never go back to that shithole".

It just seems that a larger portion of those cities are ghetto than the okay parts. Especially Detroit.

I mean, in Chicago, we have some really bad areas, but the larger percentage of the city is nice. It's just the bad areas overshadow the good in eyes of outsiders because of what you hear on the news. The per capita murder rate here is way lower than a lot of other cities like St. Louis, New Orleans, Baltimore, etc.. but all a lot of people see is the total numbers.

Mentioning Cleveland seems to be derogatory even in Ohio.

And the total numbers were worse in the 90's lol

It's just bullshit propaganda that a certain side latches onto to fear monger. We live in one of the safest periods of human history for the most part.

When you are talking about negative vibes are you referring to Detroit being dangerous or just a bad city altogether?

Word around the campfire is Cleveland rocks

I went to Detroit last year and had a blast. I thought it was an awesome city

There's no comparison between Cleveland and Detroit. Detroit is a complete disaster. Cleveland is another recovering north-east industrial city, that's true, but it's done a far better job of re-inventing itself that Detroit (or Buffalo or Rochester or some others for that matter). It still has problems, but on a more modest level. And it has a lot of culture, great restaurants, etc.

Cleveland gave us Lebron James and Bone thugs n Harmony, they cool in my book
