Cleto Reyes imported from Mexico?

well the Winnings are durable but I just used it for lots of rounds of bag and padwork for 4-6 days a weeks for nearly a year so as the padding is fine, I feel almost like I have somewhat rearranged it from its orginal state, not damaging it quite yet. btw, its just on the right hand, the left hand glove is fine

That's a helluva lot of usage actually, much more than most people would use their gloves, and pretty much pro-level frequency. The fact they're holding up well speaks for their quality. I assume you're an orthodox boxer, so the right glove naturally gets the heavier beating.

That's the downside to getting white gloves that you're gonna be using mainly for bag and padwork. I'm a bit suprised to hear about the padding getting jacked though, I thought Winning would have great durability in that area.

I almost went with Grant over Reyes initially, because I read in some threads that they were better for sparring, but eventually went with Reyes 18oz because for the most part I've heard Reyes > Grant, plus I heard Reyes had the tightest hand compartment, another selling point for me. Speaking of which, I'm also suprised to hear Winning has a tighter hand compartment, according to mfugee1234's last post. I guess I got the impression it wasn't tight by looking at the gloves.

i think the reason the gloves are made smaller is because they were intended to be used by japanese boxers. when i was living in japan i tried to find some running shoes for a size 10 1/2, but the selection is extremely limited because they do not cater to that large of a shoe size. i'm 5'11 160lbs and i was the largest person on the kansai gaidai boxing team. even with ordinary items like shirts and jackets, i would always have to order a size or two up in order to fit "normal."

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Everything made in Japan is usually smaller than their western counterparts, so gloves are no different.

How tight are your Winnings compared to your Cletos? I heard that Reyes gloves had one of the tightest hand compartments as well.

i would guess that the winning gloves are about 1/2 inch smaller inside then the cletos, just a guess tho. the actual room for your fingers seems noticeably shorter as well, its definetly made for smaller hands

Thanks for all your comments on the gloves, they were very helpful. Not having huge hands myself, I love the snug fit of the Winnings now that I have a pair.

Going back to your previous post about how long it took you to get your Cleto Reyes gloves... you were right about it not taking as long as he said. I placed the order around 4 weeks ago and already got confirmation that they're shipping tomorrow. Great service, and I'd definitely recommend the guy.
