Can anyone explain to me how Clay never ammounted to more? He has wins over some huge names. Bad marketing?

Once he went to Greg Jackson MMA he soured out like a cabbage patch doll.

When he tried to become a point fighter by trying to LnP on his opponents to get the decision W is the minute he started his decent from the top.....

Are you kidding? The announcers loved him. Watching his fights you'd think he was the best, most active fighter evah.

His wins over Diaz and Pettis are via stalling, and he didn't deserve the Diaz decision. IIRC I scored the Hioki fight for Hioki too.

you go thro peaks and valleys when you rack up 50 fights...

top tier gatekeeper

Guida was/is kind of an overachiever. He didn't have a spectacular skill set or an abundance of talent. He's just tough as hell and has great cardio. Most of his best wins are due to holding guys down. He's always been a quality fighter and a tough out for just about anybody in his weight class(es), though.

He's a bad style match up for some guys but he's not a great fighter.

Guida was always fine with being a gatekeeper anyway. He's a tough bastard, but pretty 1 dimensional. Although I swear that dude has a V12 packed in his chest somewhere.
