Clay Guida: future Hall of Famer?

I agree but I think in the Zuffa era, if you've never been champ or even fought for a title, unless its an exceptional circumstance, most shouldn't be HOF.

IMO anyway.
Can't disagree. I wouldn't even put several champs in the HOF, but as individuals we will all perceive things differently and prioritize certain aspects over others.

Royce
Shamrock
Severn
Coleman
Liddell
Tito
Couture
Hughes
Penn
Silva
Franklin
Hendo
Rampage
Jones
Bethe Correia

That's obviously not everyone, but just an example of the calibre required for HOF, for my personal tastes.

He will be remembered by the ones who matter most......The fans!

Jorge Posada probably won’t make the Hall but, the fans will always remember how important he was and what he meant to them.

Fans show you love daily....The hall gives you a big ceremony and a framed photo. Ones who never saw an athlete in their heyday, doesn’t really give a sh*t unless they hold a record.

Clay Guida - The fighter that fights like he is on cocaine but isn’t. Energizer Bunny!

Why is Ken Shamrock in there? For his 60 minute staring contest with Severn?

Not a single name im gonna disagree with on that list.

I'd probably add Big Nog and Vitor but yeah, in a HOF theyre the calibre of names who should be in it, I agree aswell not every champ would be in it, i just could justfiy former champs being in over guys like Guida etc.

If they keep him around his next fight will be his 30th fight in the UFC, I wouldn't be mad either way, I think the HOF is pretty legit, more so than the rankings thats for sure.

They have different "Wings" Modern and Pioneer, he'll probably belong in it at some point imo.

I forgot Shogun and Machida as well.

If we are going to include Big Nog (by all means one of the best HW of all time, maybe top 2-3), who really didn't have a good UFC run despite briefly holding an interim belt, we should include other PRIDE legends who cut their teeth in Japan. Cro Cop, Gomi, and Wanderlei had disappointing UFC tenures, but all deserve it. I have no issues with people excluding PRIDE as well. Just my opinion.

Yeah, for me i'd include Pride guys personally but also have no issue with it being UFC careers only.

Also, GSP aswell, duh.

No and he's one of the most boring fighters i have ever seen. Sure he had one or two entertaining fights, but the Pettis fight alone made me hate him as a fighter. He may be cool as a person, but as a "fighter" he's boring as fuck. I don't think any guys who are content with laying on people for the entire fight should be inducted into the HOF.

Bas Rutten is in it, and he only fought twice lol.. I love Bas though.

UFC/MMA HoF, no.

BUT, if they made a journeyman HoF, then Guida is the GOAT. I mean that in a good way. I posted about this before here, but he has a whopping 55 pro fights, and he's only been KO/TKOed twice! Never popped for PEDs the whole time. He's had a boring fight here and there, but for the most part, he's been a consistently exciting fighter who's beaten a lot of really tough guys. In addition to everyone you've mentioned, he's also beaten Kawajiri, Hioki, Aurelio, and Koch. Plus, when did Guida ever act like a diva? When did he ever duck anybody?

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Guida is the Journeyman GOAT!!!

UFC hall of fame? yes.

MMA hall of fame? No.

Imo no but ufc just gives it to whoever they want at the time

Youve got quite the strange obsession with Bisping my man.

Did he sleep with your Mrs or something?
He's by far one of the most underserved member of the HOF.

Note that he's in the modern wing here.
Other picks are dubious like Maurice smith or Serra but at least they are on the pionnier wing

Oh yeah the HOF is a farce but I always personally find it strange Bispings name gets brought up as undeserving before Stephan Bonnar or the tapout guy being in there.

Also Im a Serra fan but I dunno how much of a pioneer he was for the sport either.

Bonnar got into the Hof for the Griffin bout not his whole carrer.
Tbh Bisping clearly deserve a hof spot for his unlikely rise as a champ.
Like make his fight against Rockhold Hof material(which is one of my favourite memory from the psort).
But his whole carrer is not Hof material.

All in all I don't really dissagree with you that much

I feel like the UFC hall of fame is based on nostalgia. You’re going to find some folks in the HOF who don’t have half that resume, based on ticket sales alone, eventually. It’s a lot like everything else the UFC does: merit doesn’t matter
