At least she is still in her prime. Toney was beyond washed at that stage in his career.
Let her bang, bro.
Well ... its HW. Mark Hunt was 45+++ and still competitive.
And had a ton of experience as a MIXED MARTIAL ARTIST.
Still find it kinda sad that it took Randy 3 minutes to finish someone with absolutely no grappling.
Randy was ancient too, but still.
James Toney had been boxing professionally for 22 years before he fought Couture. He was 42 years old and weighed nearly 70 pounds more than when he was in his prime. Claressa Shields is almost 25 years old and is still in shape (just fought for and won the vacant WBC, and WBO light middleweight titles 6 days ago). She's only been boxing professionally for a little over 3 years. The parallels are uncanny!
I like it when “Claressa explains it all”
The Jedi said the same thing about Anakin Skywalker and that turned out just fine.
Need the Mercer vs Sylvia gif.
Shields could try if she learns takedown defense... but looking at Toney vs Couture, I always remember that a boxer can only be successful if he's like Francis Ngannou - strong punch and good takedown defense.
