Rumored Ciryl Gane plans to return in September and targets a fight with Sergei Pavlovich.

refusing to fight until they say you get one, that’s ducking.
Waiting for a title fight when there is nobody else more deserving is not ducking. What is ducking is refusing to fight the rightful contender and calling out a 41 year old semi retired fighter.

Sherdog is now downplaying anything Gane related despite that he was the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ and "scared" Jon Jones would never take the fight.

They already forgot that the guy is genuinely one of the best strikers in the UFC not just the HW division, he's insanely skilled on the feet and can very well smack Sergei around.
Sergei is the second worst nightmare match up for Gane after Jones. I am a fan of both Gane and Pav, it is a bad matchup for Gane. I'd really like to see him in a good rebound fight instead of the UFC trying to kill off one of two contenders in a division with exactlytwo contenders.

Don’t forget about Aspinall he is coming back soon and will get a big push from the UFC.

The division is kind of stuck at the moment. Jones only wants to fight Stipe and he doesn't want to fight until November. And then he plans to retire. Pavlovich should probably wait and fight for the vacant belt once Jon is gone.
You do realize he would most likely be fighting Gane for it regardless?

Gane showing us that he's more than willing to take a fight that Jones wants no part of.
Nice narrative spin but do you understand how dumb a person would have to be, to be in the position Jones is in and take the Pav fight instead of the Stipe fight? Some of you shebros are downright dumb. Pretending this is an act of valor by Gane or cowardly act by Jones is plain silly. If you understand how legacy and money work and popularity and asses in seats and casual name recognition you wouldn’t be saying silly things like this. There is no logical way it makes sense to do the Pav fight before the Stipe. Period

It's a terrible fight for the UFC to make. If Gane wins, they'll derail Pavlovich with no benefit gained, as Gane will still be known as the guy with zero defence against wrestlers. Winning the fight does very little to change the perception of Gane and Gane winning it destroys the credibility of the division.

Pavlovich on the other hand has already built himself up as the #1 challenger with five consecutive 1st round KOs and proved himself against a wrestler too. The fight is simply large risk, little benefit in every way.
If Jones retires which is likely you do understand this is the fight that will be made for the belt?

What is the difference between waiting until Jones retires and beating his ass for a belt and beating his ass now and getting him put the way for the belt if you are in either man’s shoes do tell?

I doubt it if Aspinall wins in June. They aren't going to give Gane a third shot if they have another good option, especially with the way he stunk up the first two.

Risk vs reward. He could lose to Gane. The two could have a shit fight like Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev and blow his title shot. He could get injured. I don't know.

They reallykinda gotta let him fight Pav or Aspinall. Hate it or love it losing to Jones is absolutely not a career ender. Yeah he lost embarrassingly but before he beat the fighter most consider GOAT he was number 2. That simply didn’t change

They claim Gane was one dimesnional and wasn't that good, to discredit Jones. If that's the case, Pav who is supposed to be this generational talent and whom Jones is allegedly afraid(ducking) of, should have no problme disposing Gane.

Gane went from being the future of the division to a toilet bug in 18 months around here.

For Pav he beats Gane either one of two things occurs. He unquestionably gets next TS regardless if he has a Rose Carla moment. Or if he waits he gets next TS. One of two fighters will be his opponent Gane or Aspinall if he wins. Losing to Gane means no TS but beating Gane assures him the only man that can stop him in his path is Aspinall. Being there isn’t necessarily a right or wrong in any of that and all the whining in the world wont change the fact it makes more sense in Jones head to pursue the Stipe fight, you kinda gotta decide with your wallet on this. If he has the money to sit and wait that’s fine but if he wants to secure his parh and force Jones to fight him or retire you get the bag now is how I see this

I am a big Sergei fan and have been prior to UFC. I said years ago he will be champion.

I'd love to see the Gane fight, I think he KO's Gane. And I highly doubt that any Sergei fans are scared of the Gane fight lol, they just wanna see him fight Jones. Why go through the middle man?

Gane is one dimensional and anyone that knew how to predict a fight said that Jon will outgrapple him easily, and he did. Gane is an elite HW and one one the best of the past 5 years. But he is very unproven and limited on the ground. No one is saying he's not good, he's elite, but he doesn't have a ground game.

Isn't that how it works here? Even champions who have defended a few times are cans and bums, also great use of toilet bug I legit liked that lol.

This, it's more of he deserves a title fight rather than afraid of the contenders. Dude is on a 5 fight 5 first round ko streak and just beat the guy who's supposed to be the guy to beat Gane.

I like Ciryl Gane and want to see him in a fight he can definitely win.

Gane vs. Pavlovich would be an amazing fight down the line but Pav has already done enough for a title shot.
