Personally, I feel it's safe to say Chuck wouldn't be as successful at LHW especially against the big 4 of Jones, DC, Rumble, and Gus. But considering the fact that weight cutting is much more widespread, plus Chuck always had a pot belly in his prime, I think it's safe to say he could make MW.

So how does MW Chuck fair against this list of MW opponents.

1. Whitaker (Whitaker has a steel chin, he wins a decision)
2. Romero (I think Chuck gets flattened)
3. Souza (I'd favor Souza but Chuck could catch him)
4. Gastelum (winnable fight Gastelum is a small MW)
5. Adesanya (Think Adesanya is too technical, decision)
6. Weidman (winnable, Chuck had solid TDD)
7. Costa (Costa is a beast I see him winning)

I honestly don't see chuck making the cut at any age. Even if he managed to I'd guess he wouldn't fight as well.

That being said, now there are some very hard hitting MW's. I wouldn't want to see a dehydrated chuck face one of them.

In all seriousness chuck was a problem at the time but the sports evolved so much, I don’t think he’d be top 10

Chuck said he only cut 9 pounds to make 205 so it’s safe to say yeah he’d be a middleweight in todays ufc but he’d still be one of the greats he just had an iron chin and hard overhand in his prime he has a shot at anyone

Chuck gets flattened even quicker, with 2days kickers & punchers with his hands down chin up style, f*k it I'll test him we about the same age.

Horrible, He's just way too slow and way too hittable, the only strike he throws on feet is his overhand right. chuck is good for his time but the sport has evolved and changed a lot since the old sprawl and brawl day.

Not sure why someone like Gus (whos best win is an old Glover) is somehow an unbeatable phenom for Chuck.

Chuck went toe to toe with some heavy hitters back in the day, its not like he always had a bad chin.

Nah. Chuck I don't think Chuck could make 185 and still be able to fight very well. Sure, he didn't cut the most weight at 205, but I'd counter that he never really blew up between fights and stayed in shape somewhat. Yeah, he is only 6'2", but he has some pretty wide shoulders.

And I would guess that he cut 15-20 pounds to make 205. All fighters generally understate how much weight they cut. And he was drawn out a bit at weigh-ins.

The genes evolved
Guys like chuck and griffin weren’t very good

Depending on what middles can transition to 205 in a positive manner, mousasi- romero- prime Souza- prime Anderson all absolutely flatten a chuck who was a brawler and over committed on the lion share of his punches (when pride came over and even some of the tuf guys that evolved - Liddell was exposed and I love chuck and his genuine attitude towards fighting which is why he had such a rabid fan base). If Robert able to ascend another weight class with not much difficulty then I see him also finishing chuck. I like Chris also before he started taking all this damage.
Others, idk- I'm probably forgetting someone but for most part this is how I see it.

He'd probably be too depleted at MW and lose due to that. At LHW, most likely beats everyone except Jones, DC, and Rumble (before he retired). Smith and Santos got a TS. Does anyone think prime Chuck couldn't today?

beat Jan and an old Glover gets a rematch with Jones. should have been right after the first one....still erks me.
