Theyre both counter strikers who rely on their opponents to chase and capitalize on their mistakes. Phil didn't chase and you end up with a fairly uneventful if boring fight. Rampage didnt chase and lured Chuck into getting KO'd in the 1st round. I think Machida is better than Chuck defensively and has better TDD. Chuck is obviously better offensively, he hits harder but doesnt possess the same fight IQ as Machida. I'd pick Machida to UD Chuck.

Chuck was on top when having great TDD and great striking was enough to win any matchup. Obviously a current no. 1 guy would walk through the guy from 8 years ago.
