Media Chris Weidman talks about his UFC 292 return, says he's not done fighting

I know its a classic “why didn’t he do this!” thing to say but I feel like he could have won if he had just tried to fight in the pocket more, there were moments he could have landed a 1 2 or a short elbow or a hook, and he was checking every kick on the right leg but none on the left, it just seemed like he could have won it

Its because we are only experiencing what we see happening, not what Chris has going on. He looked exasperatingly slow and mechanical out there, his athleticism is gone.

Chris Weidman knows how to check a leg kick, but he doesn't have the speed, timing or physical ability to get it done while trying to both survive and be offensive.

Even when both guys were fresh in the first round, Chris was getting brained with big punches. He is lucky he fought a guy who was willing to let him off the hook, there were multiple times Tavares could have put him away but he held back.

Chris won't get the same treatment next time, he'll get badly knocked out. He has no business in there.

It honestly looked like Tavares started taking things lightly as the fight when on. Whether it was coasting, fatigue, or maybe even feeling bad for Weidman I dont know, but the Chris has no firepower anymore. If he can't get his opponent down then he has nothing.

The Kelvin fight showed this and that was 6 years ago. The Dominick Reyes fight too, he should have seen the writing on the wall after that one.
