Chris Weidman started the Machida decline

ridiculous. If anything the Weidman fight would have given Machida a boost. He hung in there with the champ and came on strong at the end. Weidman did nothing to demoralize or damage Machida. Rockhold crushed whatever dreams Machida had after the Weidman fight, then Lyoto took a fight with a power guy way too soon after. Machida needed a rebound fight or tune up fight after Rockhold. Fighting a beast only compounded his damage.

Sherdog is one crazy place...Weidman gets credit for too much. Good fighter on the brink of greatness, but my goodness. Shogun started that decline by the way...or I don't know, getting older. I hear that happens from time to time. Dudes 37 years old and he's been fighting for a good long while...DAMN YOU GETTING OLDER!!!

People are stupid.

Just because Mahchida lost to two title contenders, doesn't make him a can.

I might have bought that reason, if it weren't for the fact that Machida was lighting up Weidman toward the end of that fight.

As it is, Rockhold probably started it.
