Merab isn't fighting Aljo. So Merab is going to get skipped right now since it's pointless to fight him for people after the title shot. Because if Merab isn't going to fight Aljo and they lose to Merab, who is Aljo going to fight? So while Aljo is champ and Merab doesn't want to fight for the title, he can only fight fighters that lose their title shot.
Sandhagen earned a rematch with that win. No need to fight O'Malley since he's fighting for the title next. Everything depends if they win or lose vs Aljo/Cejudo as well and also if Aljo loses to Cejudo. Because if that happens things will be different and Merab would move up for a title shot and Aljo will take Merab's place in the rankings and the fight to take to get a title shot.
The Sandhagen fight shows that Chito isn't ready for the very top, he wouldn't be able to beat Yan and he wouldn't be able to beat current O'Malley. Chito freezes up when fighters are fighting back, he was losing to Cruz before he got that headkick as well. They say he starts slow but he fights at that same pace the whole fight. He's not active enough and he let's the other fighters control the pace/tempo. Cruz just slowed down in the later rounds so it was a better pace for Chito. Seems like if you press Chito with striking or grappling you can easily freeze him up and make him inactive in the fight. Chito only does well if you let him lead and fight at his pace.

I guess chito has to count on a fluke injury to beat Sean since he isn’t an old veteran. Chito doesn’t beat prime fighters under normal circumstances. The guy just isn’t elite.

You don’t outstrike, rock, and drop Petr Yan if you’re not elite. Chito will never beat a prime BW without some weird fluke like the first Sean fight.

I want to see him vs Yan. Both are slow starters who need to get hit to wake up and both would welcome a close quarters war.
sean vs sandhagen for next shot - if the ufc wants to at least appear like a legit org. But I sense they'll protect sean from any danger as he got the win over yan and can be marketed from that and not risk him losing and kill any momentum. He'll garner more interest than sandhagen for a title shot. the trash talk from either anjo or henry vs sean would sell tickets.

the leg injury that enabled chito to get top position would be nearly impossible to repeat. chito would presumably have to wrestle sean this time, which he has not shown the ability to do.
