i have loose ligaments and stuff. basically if you can bend your fingers 90 degrees backwards. but i have this through out my whole body. if you find yourself while training doing a kimura way past the point of breakage. then just think that person has loose ligaments and stuff and go further. I have always wondered why i could slip out of so many things. If you know you have this, try to use it to your advantage. :D if you find yourself doing an ankle lock twice as far and the opponent with a careless expression just starts to grab your leg. he has it. it is quite funny if you have it.

I want to know if anyone else has this?

i don't have it as bad as some others do, but if you let your arms dangle and it doesn't hurt, but you feel like it popped out of socket you have it. or atleast have it in your shoulder.

I used to roll with a friend of mine who was this way. He could swing his arms over his back and continuing under his legs back to the front without letting go of his hands. This made kimura's and other shoulder locks impossible.

Having high elasticity dosn't help with chokes, though.

I have rolled with a dude who could do this with his shoulders.
I could not believe how far he would bend to a Kimura.
Enough to where I was scared to break him, but he would just take it

yeah, i am one of those guys. people can put me in kimura's but they have to crank it reaaaal far to get me to tap.

oma plata's are impossible to tap me w/ too.

My sis is worse than me, she can do that arm thing ur talkin about. Basically jump roping motion w/ ur arms w/o letting go. so im guessin it's genetic for me

I have loose and weak joints, but it hurts me in subgrappling. I don't have superflexibility like you, just the joints come out or break mroe easily. My toes go both directions equaly well, but that doesn't help. My elbow goes a bit further, but by the time an armbar is locked in, the extra degrees of rotation I ahve aren't of any use. My sister has even looser joints in her shoulders and elbows though, to the point where she cannot lift weight because her joints will collpase on her. She is seeing a specialist now and it seems to be helping. It would be nice to have tough joints that were flexible though.

yea i know about those guys but i just usually choke the shit out of them

my chiropractor said I had to stop trining for 3 months at least(!) my spine was out of place... isn't life a bitch...

tomorrow i am going to test my back to see if I can restart training this month, or if I need more therapy..

I've been told never to train again by a GP, a physio, and a neurologist because of my neck problems, but then, I'm pretty dumb when it comes to shit like that.
LOL

I was dumb as well until I lost almost completly the functions in my lefts arm.. but you are right, some doctors are just to over zelous

a chiropracter will tell you to never grapple or lift weights or go running. a physician or your mother will probably tell you to never fight in the first place. your best buddy will buy you gloves for your birthday

I nominate this post, for "Greatest Post by a White Belt '06 Edition"

So hockeyfacekilla, what do people submit you with then? Or do you never get submitted? I am flexible, but I cannot do that shoulder jump rope motion. It only I could, I would be the coolest kid in town.

I can do the Shoulder thing. I think I have double jointed shoulders or some shit.
The problem is, I leave myself open to figure fours, even baiting them to escape sometimes.
When someone has really good mechanics, they still get the tap though.
Never knew about loose ligaments?
I'm pretty flexible everywhere, but I'd only consider my shoulders "freaky" flexible.
