- The Global Times paper, a State run CCP mouthpiece, just threatened to strike Australian military bases and key facilities with long range missiles once conflict breaks out in the Taiwan Straits.

Global Times Headline

“China needs to make a plan to deter extreme forces of Australia.”

“Given that Australian hawks keep hyping or hinting that Australia will assist the US military and participate in war once a military conflict breaks out in the Taiwan Straits, and the Australian media outlets have been actively promoting the sentiment, I suggest China make a plan to impose retaliatory punishment against Australia once it militarily interferes in the cross-Straits situation,”

“The plan should include long-range strikes on the military facilities and relevant key facilities on Australian soil if it really sends its troops to China’s offshore areas and combats against the PLA (People’s Liberation Army).”

What does "China's offshore areas" mean? Does this mean Taiwan = China's offshore areas?

Senior Australian official recently said the drums of war are beating. Though he did not specifically single out China.

The argument could be made that if war breaks out and Australia is involved, it is only natural China will strike Australian forces. But the Australians haven't actually said they will militarily help Taiwan if war breaks out, so this comment from the CCP is quite belligerent.

Here is what Australian professor Joe Siracusa, a geopolitics expert in Australia had to say

Skip to 2.20 for the below comments

He says the Australian government should call the Chinese ambassador in and ask him to repudiate these comments, which he won't, in which case the Australians should expell him. The Prof. think this Global Times statement was authored in Canberra by the Chinese embassy.

Would be good if the US issued its own statement , stating any attack against Australia would be met with American response. The West should not shy away when China acts belligerently, because that only emboldens them and they will just keep pushing and pushing.

Yeah the USA and the EU should issue statements heavily denouncing these moves by China. This is belligerent and really going too far imho

For once I wish one of these shit talkers would actually do it.

Bored of reading about the empty threats now. Atleast Trump had the balls to actually take out that general and what did they do in return? Nothing lol

Man the CIA has pro Chinese in its ranks. America is doomed unless Congress which seems less controlled steps up or a Republican gets in again. Lets see how Biden handles it. I remember watching that Joe rogan episode with "former cia" guy and thought while it was nice he said China is worse than Russia and more dangerous, he didnt advocate for any real hard measures and said ""china is great we should keep tradding with them"

Im like WTF kind of response is that?

Imagine if, on D Day, the Allies had to travel twice the distance, fight their way through an opposing fleet, including at least a couple of submarines, and land their troops against an enemy hundreds of thousands strong who knew they were coming. And has been prepping for this fight for well over half a century.

They then had to fight their way inland against fanatical resistance, over terrain that pretty much negates the use of heavy armour, except on a few major roads that would quickly become an insurgent's wet dream.

That's pretty much what the PLA, which hasn't fought a conflict on this scale since Korea, would face. Would they conquer Taiwan in the end? Almost certainly. Sheer weight of numbers would tell eventually. As Stalin said, quantity has a quality all of it's own. But it would be a Pyrrhic Victory, with the kind of mass casualties the Chinese haven't suffered in generations. Anything other than an almost bloodless and instant victory, which is all but impossible, would be a massive loss of face for the CCP. And I've not even addressed the economic consequences China would face.

TL/DR: you'll do fookin' nothing, China.

Three Gorges Dam.

One shot, bye bye China. Even the Aussies could probably ruin China with this method.

China is all fluff on the physical front.
3 gorges would certainly get a nuclear response.

the Clinton crime syndicate gave China the missile technology to hit Australia and most other parts of the world. So that’s a huge concern. And they built off of the technology to get into space.

Any real war with China becomes nuclear. But they have the biggest achilles heal on the planet in Three Gorge. One shot and 75% of the heartbeat of China is washed away.
