Most of their versions are far superior tbh. They just get stopped by western governments. America is extremely anti-competitive in regards to Chinese companies. That's why you have people like Musk trying to copy the Chinese model. Why do you think he bought twitter for? He wants that one super app.
 
Chinese products are actually pretty solid now. It's funny how cyclical all of this stuff was. Japan was actually considered a joke and their products were terrible after the war. After getting their economy stable, they stepped again and became known worldwide for great products. China then took the mantle of cheap products and now they are entering the Japanese era of great products.

Usually what happens though is after a country starts making good products, they start to outsource to cheaper countries for more profit and the product slips. China will probably have some glory years and eventually start doing the same and another country will step up. Probably India.

I have to disagree. What Chinese designed and built product is better than its American competitor?

They can't even build their own commercial airplane without sourcing the avionics from the US and the engines from a Franco-American consortium. Everything they build is ripped off or tech-transfer from the US, Europe or Japan.

CCP rigs the game in favor of Chinese companies. An example is of a Chinese company ripping off Taiwanese pineapples and the CCP then putting up barriers against the Taiwanese company to allow the Chinese company to dominate the local market.

Japan took Western consumer electronic ideas and designs and miniaturized them, added features and made them more reliable. Same with cars. China has yet to do this.
 
According to Peter Zeihan China will collapse in about 10 years. He was on the Bryan Callen podcast 2 weeks ago. The stuff he was saying made a lot of sense.
 
Anyone with a brain knew this once we found out they were putting peepee in our coke as some sort of Chinese joke.

Press X for doubt. China is actually really bad at innovation. It starts early, too, kids in school are actively discouraged from going outside the box in any way. China IS somewhat good at soft power, however, making grand gestures, grand declarations, to make clueless foreigners think China is so advanced and futuristic, when it's not.

China is horrible at soft power. Everybody thinks their movies and music are corny and suck. A country like South Korea and Japan have good soft power.

I can see that perspective. Japan and Korea just have genuinely good aspects to their culture, so it's more like accidental soft power. China doesn't have that, all they have is state propaganda to distort reality. It genuinely works, a lot of normies think China is very advanced when in reality it's very backwards in all kinds of ways. China isn't great at their soft power like say Russia, they're so-so. They have their little minions distribute bogus stories in social media and a lot of people buy into it.
