Media Chatri Sityodtong criticizes UFC and Bellator on signing low level fighters

If we didn't just get assaulted with a barrage of low level, low talent, regional wtf are we doing here type of fighters at the APEX, then he'd be wrong. but he's absolutely right. 100%. ONE has put out way better cards, way better fights in 2023. without a doubt. the UFC only has the edge on like 2-3 cards this year, where it was high level, and quality match ups/cards. everything else has been a saturday decision pitter patter snooze fest with raul rosas types and people here pretend that the sanctity of MMA in these matches is just such high level and prestige, because it's MMA and the UFC. what a load of shite. ONE puts out banger cards every Friday and their AMAZON cards have all delivered 100000%. I can think of 2-3 cards this YEAR that UFC has delivered on. The rest are shit and you know it.

Christian Lee is American and trains and grew up in Hawaii, you can't count him. So of the men's champs it's only Kai Tang really.

They also stall a lot of wrestlers getting title shots. They recently let Murad Ramazanov leave rather than give him one despite him being undefeated in the promotion.

Yeah, I agree, it's a nice product, IMO, where they mix up the type of combat sports you get to see on a card. I like variation.

I should probably watch it more. I just have no clue about when to watch, probably cus I don't really venture into the Worldwide subforum.

just tune into one ONE Friday card, for free, on Youtube. That's it. I think the ONE Friday 30 card had an insane amount of finishes. All bangers. Once you get it, you get it. You recognize the names. The fight styles. It's pure entertainment because they don't hold back. Their might be a slow first round, but after that it's off to the races and then from there it's pure violence. They don't back down, it's high level, and there's no Greg Jacksoning of the system/rules. It's elbow for elbow, clash for clash, and extra F You Sir. On top of that, they have the GOAT translator who adds to the excitement when Chatri inevitably rewards the winner and Loser in many cases, with some extra BAHT. Just watch this Friday's card for free on youtube. Tell me afterwards it sucked. you can't.

Every friday? I know they put it on for free on YT, but I think they are basically in the morning for me, so it's easily overlooked.

Well obviously they have better Muay Thai fights than the UFC because the UFC don't have Muay Thai fights so I'll give him that one.

Not sure why Chatri or other people even try to compare ONE to UFC or any other MMA promotion for that matter at this point. ONE is averaging like 2.5 MMA fights per event this year. I guess they're competing for attention of a certain [small] cross-section of the market, but they're drifting apart. The last ONE HW title fight opened up the main card of an event where the headliner, co-headliner and featured bout were all Muay Thai. It's very apples to oranges right now.

ONE has been putting on way more entertaining events all year than UFC has. UFC wishes they could do an event as good as ONE Friday Night Fights 30.

ONE > Fight Circus > PFL's Lightweight WMMA division > UFC.
