Charlie Radtke Apologizes for Using Homophobic Slur in Post-Fight Interview at UFC 293

Guys, the dude has no choice in the matter if he wants to keep his job. They made Manel Kape apologize too at the post fight presser, it is what it is. You have no idea how publicly traded corporations work if you think people can say whatever on their airwaves and not face consequences.

I for one have never heard someone get called a “blow job”.

lol it's a thing in the mid Atlantic region of the United States: New York and New Jersey especially.

It’s nonsense. That word is an insult to anyone it is hurled at not just of a certain persuasion. If a straight man gets angry when you call him a fa-goat and a gay man gets angry if you call him a fa-goat then how is it much else but an insult?
Pussies get upset at words <Fedor23>.

If I am called a cocksucker I take it as an insult. I am a straight man. Perhaps you are and you aren’t offended. Some gay men when called a cocksucker will feel offended and some will smile. Basically the word along with the word fa-goat are universal insults that will be taken offensively or not regardless of sexual preference. So basically saying things like these terms have no place in society is like saying insults have no place in society or giving them far greater weight than an insult is nonsensical and makes me chuckle harder when I hear them

yes indeed and point taken. I don't think we're really very far off in terms of opinion on this. I do understand it's an insult but I also don't give a shit because I'm pretty unflappable and also not the easiest target if someone wants to get physical with me in a violent way.

Do people on sherdog only hang out with straight male meatheads irl? God this place sucks. I forgot people defending slurs demeaning historically marginalized communities actually still exist, and then I log in to sherdog and sigh and log out for another year again.
hetero privilege. imho

I think gay men say :eek::eek: more than straight men these days, just like black people with the n-slur.

The thing is even if you are unflappable it’s irrelevant. There simply is no way for any adult that understands English to be called a dirty fa-goat and them to not take it as an insult. If they are unfazed by the insult that’s fine. It simply is not an insult exclusive to a sexual preference

To be clear, you can say any of those words. But you have to be willing to accept responsibility and the criticism you’ll get for doing it. You can’t cry foul when you know full well what you’re saying and it’s negative connotations. People have every right to use their freedom of speech to lambast one’s use of offensive language. That doesn’t infringe upon freedom of speech or thought, that’s just consequences, which people don’t want to accept.
The punishment doesn’t always fit the crime. Lots of people have been cancelled for silly tweets

The great Richard Dawkins made some great comments on the modern erroneous use of "-phobia" pointing out that Salman Rushdie was repeatedly stabbed blinded in one eye by a zealous Islamist at a public speaking event in the USA, due to there being a Fatwah declared against him by the Ayatollah in Iran, and yet people of a certain ilk still have the gall to ad nauseum use the phrase "Islamophobic" as if it is a meaningful term. You could extend similar arguments to any of the other modern -phobias that have entered popular usage. The words are a way to avoid having to make an argument, also commonly referred to as a "thought terminating cliche".
I'm not arguing as to how much reverence should be given to the term, only that it can accurately be ascribed to a dislike of a group, not just a fear.

Why is the word :eek::eek:ot so awful? Dont they hold events in Abu Dhabi where homosexual acts are still illegal?

Is anyone actually offended by "bad" language after watching men try to inflict as much damage to each other as possible? Its so stupid to me.
Even for gays first one is more offensive lol
Western gays says we have to respect their culture and rules

A word is more offensive than their kind being beaten or imprisoned?

Lmao woke stupidity at its finest. Its an insult, crude but no worse than calling someone a dumbass or motherfucker.

Shit, it’s not really used as a homophobic slur anymore. Its said all the time about people you dislike, irregardless of sexual orientation. Obviously we know it’s origins, but we all know he didn’t use it in that context. The internet is always looking to cancel someone
