Chucky never ceases to puzzle me.

He would have a decent chance if he were to work on getting Max to the ground for submission or getting a hold of him in some kind of standup submission like he did to Dustin- but I don't see him doing that- he seems to stand in front of everyone and slug with them no matter how detrimental of a strategy it might be.

He will undoubtedly try and get the fight on the ground in this fight like he does all of his fights. He took Gamrot down and subbed him, he took Chandler down every round and attempted 12 takedowns he had 15 mins of control time, even vs Ilia it was clear he was looking to get the fight down. He got KO'd in the interim, but at some point he's gonna stand and trade strikes with Ilia, you can't really avoid it. It's too predictable just to shoot over and over.

The only times you don't see him initiate the grappling is he when he's facing elite grapplers like Islam and Arman. But vs Max, a primary striker, Charles is going to lock him and up and initiate the ground game.
