If you want the term legend to have any sort of meaning you wouldn't just apply it to any fighter you happen to like a lot. Oliveira isn't remotely close to being a legend especially when you consider the circumstances of his subs.

Boxing fans seem to do it the right way. The term legend or ATG(all time great) is reserved for truly special fighters while others who aren't on that level but did a lot of great things are called HOF'ers(hall of famers).

Oliveira will be in the hall of fame because of the submission record he holds but he's nowhere near legend status.
