Media Charles Oliveira ”Who do you want to see me fight”

  1. Justin
  2. Then Islam
  3. And if Conor can win one give me fight, then he's 3rd

How about number one contenders like a champ is supposed to do?

Already starting to dislike Oliveira with how long he's been champ and already wanting money fights that don't make sense.

While I certainly can understand your perspective in this situation and I wouldn't disagree. But IMO, this is the one time I would actually not complain or criticize Olivera if he fought Conor. For the reason that he already defended the belt vs the most legitimate contender at LW, the so called uncrowned champ and finished him. And after Conor it would be nothing but top contenders in Gatehje and Islam/Dariush. And secondly, he's had 29 UFC fights, fought many top fighters, was up and down and been super active. If someone like Chandler for example or Gaethje did that, I would hesitate as neither have many UFC fights. But Olivera considering the above I can let it slide, the rare situation.

Gotta be Gaethje. No way should McGregor (or anyone) get a title shot of a loss, unless they were the champ losing the belt.

A prepared Conor would stylistically match up really well against Oliveira, since he's such a 1st round sharpshooter on the feet. He definitely doesn't deserve the title shot though.

Honestly, Oliviera beating Conor at this point means jack shit to me. I don't even see it as a mega fight, because I was calling for Conor to fight Charles years ago. Conor hasn't done a damn thing to deserve it other than being an endless loudmouth asshole, which gets him attention.

I horribly miss the days when champs would have huge amounts of defenses, instead of calling for money fights the second they get the belt.

I mean, we had Usman calling for a fight vs Nate Diaz... seriously?

It's just utterly pathetic to me at this point that credibility has gone out the window and they might as well be calling for fights against CM punk, Brock Lesnar, or fucking Jake Paul.

I like fighters getting paid when they deserve it, but the UFC making a circus of things with Conor has led to this point in MMA history where people know that money fights are the only thing that matters once you are either the champ, or have name recognition.

Calling for a fight against Conor "because you want someone to get paid" still isn't a good reason. Call out people who have worked as hard as the current champ, and who deserve the title shot. Why give Conor another payday when he doesn't deserve it?

I never will give a shit about "money fights" because how much a fighter getting paid has nothing to do with me. They can make billions, but I still won't care if they aren't worth watching for their fighting skills.

I watch MMA for the fights. For the display of skills. Not for how much revenue a fighter or an event can make. Every day it gets closer to WWE and I don't want to go back to that shit.

it's sad so much of this forum has gone to only giving a shit about "drawing power" and shit like the amount of social media followers someone has...

Khabib or Conor. Conor had a terrible injury his last fight. Freak injury. Don't define him by that, unless you're an asshole.

What would you think?

{<Mcgoat}

Id like to see him fight Islam but if he loses to Beneil Justin can have his shot. Darius vs Oliviera sounds great too.

Beating Conor means virtually nothing for anyone in the top 10. If you're the champ it's literally stating you're avoiding your responsibility and simply trying to make as much money as possible. That would be perfectly fine for a champion who's completely cleaned out the division and a legit legend. We all know Charles is not that guy. This idea sucks on all fronts. Fuck all of you who support it. Fuck money making mediocrity that betrays the idea of sport. They can make shit tons of money off of Conor without giving him unwarranted title fights.

Huh? When was Charles a wrestlefucker? He will sib Gajthe on the ground, or maybe even standing like Dustin.

He has great grappling. Who has wrestlefucked Tony like that Before ? He also took Poirier's back standing, like it was nothing

I'm really over this favortism bullshit Conor gets all the time just cus hes a great draw. It literally drives me fucking insane. Fuck making the most money possible as soon as you can or getting that giant payday. As much as I advocate for better pay, that does not mean champions can handpick challengers based on how much they can make you in revenue. All these fools be talking about "being a real man," but also believe the fucking UFC LW champ should go for his "red panty night" fighting Mcgregor (who lost his last two in devastating fashion) while he still has the chance. Fuck all that. If you're actually a real man, you fight the hardest hypothetical matchup that can be made at the time, the #1 contender, no matter the price. Fuck selling out for cash. If MMA is to be considered a legitimate sport, if you want actual talent and respect from the public as a viable athletic career for people around the world, the ranking system must be adhered to and followed. While, it can be disputed that Gaethje may not truly be the true #1 contender, you absolutely can not convince me otherwise (without previous bias in economic impact or outright fandom) that Conor Mcgregor should get a title shot coming off a serious foot/leg injury based on solely on popularity alone. Islam/Dariush is probably the actual #1 contender fight, Id have no problem with Oliviera waiting for the winner of that, but my guess is Dana only cares about $$$ and does the unprofessional and gives undeserved title shot to Conor for another payday, but hopefully he stays the course and gives Gaethje his shot. Wont hold my breath.
Lol to invested fella
