Spicy take, I think Charles career was sort of mismanaged. He was very young when he fought Cerrone, Swanson, and Edgar. Sure Jones was able to light the world on fire when he was young, but LHW is a far shittier division than 145 and 155. Everyone back then would talk about how insanely talented he was, but I think they probably fed him to the wolves a bit early. If they let him have like 4-5 more tune up fights in his early 20s, I think his career is even more insane. This isn't unheard of, the Dagestani guys usually beat the absolute brakes off of some lower tier fighters before coming over to the UFC and going on a tear. I think if Charles does that same thing, he's the same insanely talented guy but with a better chin and more durable all around. I remember Frankie giving him a pretty hellacious ass whipping. VERY tough guy to fight that early in your career.
