He's still fairly high profile. Could fight Tony, Islam (if he beats Dober), or RDA, amongst others. Lots of good fights in that division.

Hooker is mightily underrated around here imo. A few fine tweaks and he's on par with someone like Poirer, whom he already gave a great fight too.
 
Fuck yes, glad they went with this instead of Gaethje or an automatic title shot, I think Chandler gets exposed here

Yeah. I have no problem with him overreaching for a better fight (told Tony 'no' on short notice, basically ignored RDA), but he overplayed his hand a bit here. Hooker isn't as high profile but is as difficult a matchup for him as pretty much anyone ranked 2-7.
 
Great fight, but kinda wish it was a 5 rounder. More 5 round non-title fights!

I agree, not sure why he would seemingly hold out for a big name fight then end up in there with Hooker. He would have been better off fighting Islam, matchup wise.

Fighting on mcgregor card is as high profile as you can get. Especially if he got a Ppv contract.
 
Hooker should deal with chandler without much problems... what’s next for Justin though? He ain’t fighting the Winner of poirer/Conor... so only name that makes sense is Charles...
 
Good fight, would have rather seen him vs Justin though but this is good.

Lol, karma for being such a diva despite being a newcomer to the UFC. From wanting to fight Khabib and Ferguson to this lmao enjoy.
 
Dan Hooker? Sigh. Was hoping for a significantly bigger name for Chandler.

If he fought Ferguson and won.. he would have been well placed to fight the winner of McGregor- Poirier for the title.

He's now behind Oliviera in the pecking order.. and will likely have to fight Gaethje or someone next year, if he has any hope of getting that number one contender spot.
 
Great fight. I preferred Gaethje vs. Oliveira as the perfect fight to make next.
 
Hooker is 4 inches taller and showed an improved ground game lately.
If Chandler gets him down, he should be too small to do real damage
And on the feet he is at a serious reach and height disadvantage.

On the other side Hooker cuts too much weight and only has 3 full rounds of cardio. Is it 3 or 5 rounds?
Hooker spars hard non stop it seems. One day his amazin chin will be gone.
