I'm surprised at the number of people thinking Conman would burn Chael. Maybe they weren't around, but I think Chael would be running laps around Conman while Conman was still trying to work on his timing. Even Diaz frequently burnt Conman.

Chael is smarter with way better delivery. Most of Conor's trash talk since the Floyd fight just consists of him repeating the same thing over and over again or talking about how he has more money or influence than the other guy.

That's a good comparison, Conor had good insults & timing, but his popularity was so out of control that at one point, he could just say anything at all and the crowd would go OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH BURNED DAYUUUUUM HE DEAD SON :skull:

So he stopped bothering trying to come up with good shit since the crowd always had his back no matter what. The 3rd Poirier fight was the only one I remember in which the crowd wasn't eating in his hand, like when he struggled a couple times to get some chants starting

Chael is great at trash talk because he can do self-depreciating humor, while Conor is too egocentric & insecure for that.

Honestly if they were in front of a camera with no crowd, just some host in the middle or something like that, I see Sonnen dominating him and probably getting him to storm off after one too many height jokes, since Conor is very insure about being a manlet.
But if they were to talk trash in front of a crowd, I could see prime Conor getting the crowd so riled up that they'd drown Chael in a sea of boos, like if he called Conor a manlet, McGregor would probably try to make him look like that bad bully guy
