"He fights with his hands down and chin up. I don't know how many times Anderson Silva has to be knocked down before he realizes the basics matter."

<3 Chael, he told bisping he'd beat him 3/4 years ago.

Chael Sonnen's record versus Anderson Silva

Says the guy that tried a spinning backfist against the Spider of all people.

I'm a Chael fan, but not letting a brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt control your wrist without resistance while you're on top is pretty basic too.

Fail Sonnen talking about basic mistakes... smh

Silva can't afford to do that anymore. It's not even just because of his chin failing but also because his reflexes. He can no longer roll with the punches, literally. He did it a few times after he already hurt Bisping, but he tried it a bunch of other times and failed. Matrix Silva is no more.

Agreed, Anderson eeds more striking advice from Sonnen.

I do not see why people say that Anderson's reflexes are failing him. Don't give me that father time shit. From looking at his fights, his reflexes are the same. Pretty damn impressive for a 41 year old.

His reflexes are the same, it's his mentality that sucks after getting ko'ed. He seems to have the ability to move and strike like he used to, but sometimes it seems like he hits a mental block and can't pull the trigger.

Also, what was up with that over head right?? He missed every damn time and put him so off balance, it's not even funny.

That quote ain't wrong.
Anderson would have a couple more w's on his record but for clowning.

shael who?

oh yeah, i faintly remember him.

he and anderson should fight--he maybe could teach anderson a thing or two about fundamentals.

Doesn't matter though does it? He's absolutely right. It's cost him the Weidman and Bisping fights. He's been embarassed, and for all the shit talking he did about Sonnen's failed tests been proven a hypocrite himself. And he hasn't learned. Same bullshit against Bisping and he lost again. "Falling from grace" does not do justice to how Silva's career is winding down.

It's just part of his style, it's what made him great and it's what makes him look bad when he loses.
Truth.
I used to think it was awesome until he ended up looking stupid... I kept cringing because it seemed to me like he was getting more and more reckless, and I knew it was inevitable that someone would catch him.

I'm just shocked he hasn't gotten it out of his system.

Impressive for a 41 year old but nowhere near as quick as his prime. Look at the film - you'd have to be blind or incredibly biased not to see this. Father time is scientific fact, not bullshit.
