"This was garbage. This was Jon Jones's worst performance by light years. Now, he won, he dominated the wrestling, the striking and he won a championship tonight. But for the high bar Jon has set, this is his single worst performance in the Octagon. His timing was off, his output wasn't there, his wrestling largely failed him aside from getting him against the cage and that's my assessment."

Pretty harsh words. He was definitely rusty

A "garbage" Jon Jones performance is a unanimous decision over a top 10 LHW who landed like 3 strikes

He still won and didn't try to panic swim out of the octagon like sonnen did against rashad

LOL like Chale could have done better.

I agree with Sonnen.

This was an opponent Bonny Jones should have been able to finish. We knew going into the fight JBJ would have a big advantage on the ground yet he made almost no attempts to force OSP there.

Jones gained a fake belt but lost his p4p title to Mighty Mouse.

That just shows how great Jon Jones is. I have to agree with them. He has been so good that 50-45 is his worst performance ever. He will be a future legend our kids talk about in a mythical tone.

Jones was probably fighting very tight, having been out of competition for awhile. When he's comfortable and loose, he's at his most dangerous.

Also, there has to be some added pressure to win against an opponent on 3 weeks notice. And I'm sure he had a conversation with Dana at some point that if he wins it's UFC 200 main event with potential $$$ PPV galore.

Wouldn't take too much stock into his obvious rustiness.

Chael would say just about anything to stay relevant, whether he truly believed it or not.

Jones needs to get back to what he's good at, doing coke and running over pregnant ladies..

Jones completely dominated the fight, it wasn't even remotely close. The only thing you can criticize him for is not finishing OSP. Not Jones' fault he can destroy a guy while barely exerting himself. That's on his opponent.

Coach ftw.

Also Chael is pretty spot on. Ring rust though whatevs...

Why? It wasn't his finest hour but Jon dominated the entire fight and almost finished in the 4th, garbage is rather harsh...

Like Sonnen said we have to take into account the high standards Jones has set for himself in the past.

This was an opponent on a level of Brandon Vera (tall striker with no ground game) and look what Jones did to him. Six years ago.

Haven't they just brought in big drug testing. Didn't jones have red flags regarding his lack of testosterone before the cormier fight. interesting.

This was an opponent on a level similar to Brandon Vera and look what Jones did to him.

And the situation of this fight is nothing like the Vera fight.
