Media Cejudo's striking improvement

How happy do you think Joe was when he said “OOOHHHHH! Dominick is hurt!”
Probably extremely happy. Nobody likes argumentative co-workers especially a guy like Cruz who literally argues about everything

experts agree he continued to intelligently defend himself
With that reffing Michael Chandler could have been champ

Before the Reis fight he talked about that he trained karate style striking with the pitbull brothers and you immediately could see his striking improvement. Also he went on to ko Reis with a blitz.

Yeah. People forget that he began his career as a meat-and-potatoes wrestle-boxer. But while he was typically able to score takedowns at will, his top control was't good enough to hold elite guys down and grind on them for long periods and his striking wasn't dynamic enough to win fights at a high level on its own.

So he moved away from boxing and Muay Thai toward Shotokan Karate and even went so far as to be officially awarded a Yellow Belt in it. The Reis fight was definitely the coming-out party for "Cejudo 2.0". It's arguable whether it was a traditional sport karate/kickboxing stance like you see from Wonderboy and Machida or more of a karate/boxing hybrid like Conor used back in the day, but regardless it worked nicely as it really upped his footwork game, allowed him to utilize blitzes, fight off his back foot, etc.

This article talks about it at length.

You saw his use of the clinch and knees that he learned from Damien Trainor (during the Marlon fight).

Yet he was what 18-1 before fighting CCC ..

That doesn't mean he didn't give up and quit. It's easy to look good when you're winning.

The moment he was put behind, hurt, and tired, Moraes gave up the ghost.

Cejudo himself said he saw Moraes quitting — which is why Cejudo stepped on the gas like that.

That's because ccc is a beast.
