Caught my kid smoking pot

It really depends on how poor you are I guess.

But seriously it depends on how important you think something is. I used hot wheels or Lego mini figures with my kids.

But I remember my mother offering to help me get a car if I didn't get a motorbike. My uncle died on a bike and she saw some similarities. Still haven't got around to getting a bike and I'm 46 now.
Similar story here, my granddad on my father's side died in a motorcycle wreck. He left my father $1 in his will, hope they stuck him in hells boiler room.
I'm 38 now, never had the urge to ride one despite growing up around bikers for big stretches of my childhood.

Its just not enough protection from a wreck, even a civic going 45 mph that wrecks into you, it's likely lights off

its a larger issue than pot.
if it looks like she is trying to race to the bottom, bad friends, bad grades and risky behavior. You should be worried. But if she was just being a dumb kid, i wouldnt worry too much. maybe just be honest with her. Pot isnt deadly but it makes you comfortable with being boring when you make it your dentity. You believe she shouldnt tie herself down for some brief highs.

I can't stand this "brain isn't fully developed until so-and-so" crap.

It just seems like an excuse to delay adulthood, accountability and responsibility in citizens.

Unless there is a war on, of course.

On pot? I've seen people baked out of their minds on it. I don't trust it.
I know people who definitely seems like they gots permanent brain damage around high school age. The ones where ego is absolutely everything, but don't really have anything to be proud of.

Everyone I knew smoked pot by 16 and that was 20 years ago lol. If she wants to smoke it she will. Don’t go wild with rules at this point. It will backfire.
If I'm not mistaken, TS's sister was messed up on drugs, homeless, and RIP. Can't blame him for not wanting that path for the kid.

I had a co-worker who would brag about getting black out drunk and she made tons of mistakes at work as if she didn't know what the fook and was not qualified for the job. I suspect brain damage from substance abuse. Even the support staff looked down on her because of all her mistakes.

Make her eat it raw old school style. Eating it raw won’t activate the THC have to heat it up.

Have a talk with youglr kid, don't go ballistic from the get go. If it's occasional, it is not a big deal.
However, regular consumption of weed seriously dumbs people down, and I am amazed how it's not being ralked about. I sure see why you don't want your kid to be like Nate Diaz.

you caught her smoking pot? you mean you saw her smoking pot. at age 16, I believe she is a young adult capable of making her own decisions regarding her own body. She shouldnt feel the need to hide from you like the police.

In many European countries, the drinking age is 16. And pot is harmless compared to alcohol, ( and caffeine, tobacco...)

<bball1>

In the USA, she's a minor and that makes him responsible for her behavior.

Weed isn't harmless. It makes people lazy and complacent. Take it from someone who is lazy and complacent.

My issues with teens smoking pot is that the vast majority of them never learn to deal with stress or adversity while under the influence. It becomes a crutch and a means of avoidance, which then makes life seem easier and more tolerable.

So when life gets real in their 20's, they don't know how to function or respond accordingly. They don't know the hammer-fucking coming their way, and when it arrives and life turns out not to be fair... as it is for 80% of the people, they don't know how to cope and spiral.

ITT, a bunch of stoners that don't realize he has a daughter, not a son.

If you actually want to take action that reduces the chance of her doing it, pay. Promise an actual benefit of she manages to avoid using it again. Like a first car or something. Doesn't have to be big.

Having an actual tangible reward makes a significant difference in recidivism. More than anything else imo.
Exactly. Tell her that if she waits until she’s 18 to smoke weed, you will buy her 5 oz of it.
