It's because North Caucasian maternal DNA is often from Europe (it's the case for Chechens idk for Dagestanis but Dagestanis have a lot of Yamnaya just like Armenians)

What I know though, is that we all have a lot of Caucasian Hunter Gatherer ancestry and similar cultural roots (my dad is a Batsbi (christian georganized chechen) and my mom is georgian and we live in Georgia so I can observe it a lot) for example Chechens have some dishes or words which are originally from Georgia, same for some Dagestanis I think?
