Which do you prefer? Both are considered men's best friend for a reason.

I have two cats and a dog, and they have different roles in the household

When outside my dogs when inside my cats.

Dogs will do what you tell them. while cats just.....good luck with that.

But, curling up on the couch to watch a movie, give me my cats,

Cats. I've always had cats. Dogs are cool too though.

Both. Cats are easier, but they shit and piss indoors. Dogs are great for outside activities and just general happiness.

My dog shit in our house until he was 4 months old. Then, he learned to shit outside.

Adult cats shit in litter trays.

Cat shit makes me puke more than picking up a dog log from the grass.

And cats lack that pack loyalty.

Dogs actually care about you and like being around you. Cats are assholes who tolerate you b/c you feed them. I'm not about to pay a bunch of money for an animal that only gives me attention when it feels like it and is an all around prick. So ya, dogs are way better. Kittens are cool though, but not cats.

Cats. Individualistic and easy to take care of.
I can randomly go somewhere for a few days and not have to make big arrangements. All my cats have always been loving and want to hang out with me a lot. Maybe just lucky, but I think they know how much I love them. I Would love a dog again too, but I always seem to travel more than a dog should have to deal with. They take it much harder, and I don’t want to cause them undue harm.

I get the hate some feel for cats though. Can even understand those who don’t like them for the litter box. Best if you have a screened in porch and cat door and leave the litter box there. Then your house is much cleaner and less of an animal smell to take care of. I couldn’t have a box in my house either.
