I love Maia, dudes a beast. Condit should have got the nod over Lawler, and IMO Maia has a great chance against Lawler (Dude hasnt fought any grapplers since Jacare and Shields and he was finished swiftly in both)

Wish this fight didnt have to happen but

Condit is going to flying Knee the fuck out of Maia. Might take him a couple attempts, and it might not be a clean KO (he may have to land a couple elbows to a downed maia grabbing a leg ala Travis Browne)

But yeah, this is how the fight plays out. The prophet has spoken

I agree, this is the real championship fight rather than Lawler Vs Woodley (no disrespect to either of them either)

I'll take Condit, and while I like Wonderboy, if he finishes Maia, i'd actually prefer to see him get the next shot

Nope.

Maia will take him down with ease all 3 rounds.

The smart bet is Maia. However, if he slowed down late in the fight like he did against Brown, Condit would rape him anally without lube.

That or Maia takes him down easily and beats him by decision on the ground while constantly passing and threatening to finish him. Maia is a terrible match up for Condit, but Condit's chances to win go up a lot in a 5 round fight.

stylistically Maia is very bad for Carlos. Condit has been vulnerable to takedowns his entire career and Maia relentlessly/single-mindedly pursues them.

Smart money is on a repeat of Maia vs. Fitch in my opinion where Carlos is slick and well-versed on the ground enough to defend and occasionally escape but largely keeps getting taken down and having his back taken.

But Condit is a gamer and very violent so if he finds the opening, he could tag Maia and put him away. Maia is tough though- if he were more chinny I'd be more confident in my boy Carlos.

Can we all agree that when Wonderboy beats Lawler and becomes the UFC Welterweight Champion that the hottest Welterweight fight will be Wonderboy vs Condit?? Its an AWESOME fight I tell ya and it is the most competitive fight hands down.

If he surives the first round, he hurts Maia a lot in the 2nd, finishes him the third.

Yep I mean Maia is great and would likely smother the likes of Hendricks, Lawler .etc but I just see Condit being the only fighter whos not afraid to be taken down and throw wild, risky strikes in the opening exchanges in each round as well as in separations. See Hendricks/Condit and DHK/Condit for reference, dude doesn't give a shiet. Everybody tries to pointfight Maia but Condit is going to put his ass down, the dude is also pushing 38 I believe so theres that

Lawler is going to break Wonderboy's face... Wonderboy won't be able to point fight Robbie like he did against a gun-shy Rory, and Lawler will break his spirit and devour his soul..

Few fighters can handle Ruthless's slow increase in intensity, and survive the final wave of shots

I don't know how Condit can beat him in a 3 rounds fight. 5 rounds is the only way Condit win this fight.
